Abstract: A user terminal according to an embodiment comprises: a controller configured to control communication of a dual connectivity scheme in which a master base station and a secondary base station are used, the master base station establishing a RRC connection with the user terminal, and the secondary base station providing additional radio resources to the user terminal. The controller is configured to initiate a first random access procedure between the user terminal and the master base station and a second random access procedure between the user terminal and the secondary base station, respectively.

Abstract: A user terminal, user terminal chipset, and method including receiving, from a cellular base station included in a cellular radio access network (RAN), parameters for an offload from the cellular RAN to a wireless local area network (LAN), and performs an access network selection between the cellular RAN and the wireless LAN based on the parameters. Parameters include a first threshold to be compared with a cellular signal strength of the cellular RAN, a second threshold to be compared with a wireless LAN signal strength of the wireless LAN, and a third threshold to be compared with a load of the wireless LAN. Performing the access network selection includes selecting the wireless LAN to perform the offload, in response to the cellular signal strength being lower than the first threshold, the wireless LAN signal strength being higher than the second threshold, and the load being lower than the third threshold.

Abstract: A mobile communication method, which configures a DRX cycle having an On duration in which a downlink signal transmitted from a serving base station is to be monitored and an Off duration other than the On duration in an RRC connected state where an RRC connection is established between a radio terminal and a radio base station, the mobile communication method comprising: a step A of transmitting, from the radio terminal to the radio base station, a timing adjustment request uplink signal through an uplink control channel, even when a radio resource of an uplink data channel has not been assigned in a case where the DRX cycle is configured; and a step B of transmitting, from the radio base station to the radio terminal, transmission timing correction information of an uplink signal, in response to the timing adjustment request uplink signal.

Abstract: A communication control method used in a mobile communication system supporting immediate MDT (Minimization of Drive Test) includes a user terminal in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state in a cell of the base station receiving an instruction from a base station, acquiring, in the RRC connected state, location information indicating a location of the user terminal based on the instruction from the base station, and measuring an uplink packet delay of uplink communication with the base station. The radio access bearers of the user terminal are associated with Quality of Service (QoS) characteristics to perform QoS control. The user terminal in the RRC connected state compares the measured uplink packet delay with a packet delay threshold value and determines whether to transmit a report to the base station based on result of the comparison. The report indicates the measured uplink packet delay.

Abstract: A user terminal according to one aspect executes a first and second DRX operations. The first DRX operation is an operation of discontinuously monitoring first control information, which is transmitted from the base station via PDCCH, using a C-RNTI that uniquely identifies the user terminal in a cell of the base station. The second DRX operation is an operation of discontinuously monitoring second control information, which is transmitted from the base station via the PDCCH, using a group RNTI assigned to a terminal group including the user terminal. The user terminal monitors the first control information in a first ON duration for the first DRX operation, and monitors the second control information in a second ON duration for the second DRX operation, the second ON duration being independent of the first ON duration.
