摘要: A method and arrangement is provided for controlling cell reselection by a terminal of a cellular radio system, in particular where the terminal is connected to a special service, such as a General Packet Radio Service. A base station transmits information to the terminal about whether the terminal may try cell reselection when required. This information is transmitted in the signaling message of a certain service, such as the GPRS service. A terminal connected to the certain service obtains information about whether it may directly change the serving base station to another base station offering a corresponding service, without temporarily accessing the signaling function of a lower level system. Cell reselection is facilitated such that loading on the terminal and on radio signaling is as low as possible.

摘要: The invention pertains to an improved method and arrangement for cell selection performed by a mobile station in a cellular radio system. Particularly the invention pertains to cell selection in a situation where the mobile station is connected to a special service such as the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) offered by the current cell. An essential idea of the invention is that a base station sends to the mobile station information about whether the base station of a neighbouring cell offers the same service. This information is sent preferably in a signalling message of a certain service, such as the PSI3 message of the GPRS system (70) or in a system information SI message of a lower-level service, e.g. in a SI3 message. The mobile station changes serving base stations directly, without having to use lower-level system signalling (72) in between. The invention helps adjust cell reselection such that the load on the mobile station and radio signalling, caused by measurement of possible new cells and by message traffic, is as small as possible.

摘要: Concluding the validity of an uplink synchronization parameter, such as a timing advance, in a packet-switched radio system. The method includes: detecting (802) an uplink synchronization parameter; measuring (804) an interval from the detection of the uplink synchronization parameter; and comparing (806, 808) the measured interval with a predetermined threshold and, if the measured interval is shorter than the predetermined threshold, concluding (810) that the detected uplink synchronization parameter is still valid, or else concluding (812) that the detected uplink synchronization parameter is no more valid.

摘要: Enhanced mobility for devices using a moving relay, or in a moving relay environment, may be valuable in the Long Term Evolution (LTE) of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3 GPP). In particular, enhanced mobility procedures for user equipment (UE) can be useful with respect to a moving relay and the radio access network (RAN) interface (IF) between the user equipment and the moving relay. Thus, certain embodiments can improve the mobility procedures between moving relays and macro layer (stationary nodes, for example, eNodeBs). A method according to certain embodiments can include determining, by a user equipment, a stable average of a signal characteristic of a signal from a mobile access point. The method can also include limiting handover of the user equipment based on the stable average.

摘要: In an exemplary embodiment there is sent to a user equipment UE downlink control information DCI comprising an indication of an access codeword and an indication that at least one component carrier CC is activated for the UE, and there is received from the UE the access codeword which is an acknowledgement that the UE has activated the at least one CC. The access codeword is received on an uplink channel which a) lies in the at least one activated CC if there is an activated uplink channel in the activated CC, or b) is previously activated if there is no activated uplink channel in the activated CC. In another embodiment DCI comprising the above two indications is received from a network, the received indications are used to select and access the at least one CC; and activating the CC is acknowledged by sending the access codeword.
