    Abstract: An alert system for a vehicle is provided for alerting an occupant of the vehicle that a pedestrian or bicyclist is approaching the vehicle and may collide with a vehicle door if the door is opened. The alert system includes a mobile communication device carried by a pedestrian or bicyclist and operable to communicate information regarding location and motion of the mobile communication device. A receiver is at the vehicle and receives a communication from the mobile communication device. A processor processes information communicated in the communication. The processor, responsive to processing communicated information, determines whether or not the location and motion of the mobile communication device relative to the vehicle is indicative of a hazardous condition. The alert system, responsive to the processor determining that there is a potential hazardous condition, generates an alert to the occupant of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a camera having an imager and a lens. The camera is disposed at an exterior portion of a vehicle and has a field of view exterior of the vehicle. An air flow element has an inlet port and an outlet port, with the outlet port configured to direct air flow in front of the lens to direct debris away from the lens. The outlet port is configured to direct air flow at a velocity that is greater than a velocity of air flow that is flowing into the inlet port. The inlet port may have an inlet area that is substantially greater than an outlet area of the outlet port. The system may include an air flow generating device for generating or enhancing air flow through the air flow device.

    Abstract: A vehicular cabin monitoring system includes an interior-viewing camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing a driver sitting at a driver seat of the vehicle and viewing at least one other seat of the vehicle. The interior-viewing camera is operable to capture image data. The vehicular cabin monitoring system, via processing of image data captured by the interior-viewing camera, detects an occupant present in the vehicle. The vehicular cabin monitoring system, via processing of image data captured by the interior-viewing camera, monitors the driver sitting at the driver seat of the vehicle. The first rate is different than the second rate.     Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a forward viewing camera at a windshield of a vehicle and a plurality of color cameras, and includes a display device operable to display video images derived from image data captured by the color cameras. A processing unit includes a first processing chip that has an image processor for machine-vision processing of captured image data, and a second processing chip that receives vehicle data and receives image data captured by the color cameras. The first processing chip machine-vision processes image data captured by the cameras for object detection and classification of objects. The first processing chip controls operating parameters of the color cameras to enhance object detection based on machine-vision processing by the first processing chip of image data captured by the color cameras. The second processing chip controls operating parameters of the color cameras for display at the display device of video images.

    Abstract: A vehicular control system includes a first communication device disposed at a first vehicle, a second communication device disposed at a second vehicle, a camera disposed at the second vehicle, and an electronic control unit (ECU) of the second vehicle. The vehicular control system determines a potential collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle based at least in part on (i) a wireless communication received at the second communication device from the first communication device and provided to the ECU of the second vehicle and/or (ii) processing at the ECU of image data captured by the camera disposed at the second vehicle. Responsive to determination of the potential collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, the vehicular control system controls (i) braking of the second vehicle and/or (ii) steering of the second vehicle.
