摘要: An oil pan is disposed in a lower part of an internal combustion engine and has an oil pan body divided, with respect to a vertical direction, into oil pan elements having bottom walls respectively of different depths. A baffle plate divides the interior of the oil pan body into a plurality of spaces at the boundary of adjacent ones of the bottom walls to regulate the flow of oil between the adjacent ones of spaces. The baffle plate is divided with respect to a vertical direction into a plurality of baffle plate elements. The baffle plate elements are formed integrally with the oil pan elements, respectively. The oil pan for an internal combustion engine can be manufactured by reduced time and reduced labor at a low manufacturing cost.

摘要: A remote control system for controlling a propulsion unit of a watercraft includes a plurality of remote controller side ECUs, all of which have the same construction in one embodiment. Each remote controller side ECU includes ECU discriminating terminal sections and an ECU determining section for determining a role of each remote controller side ECU based upon signals provided by the ECU discriminating terminal sections. The ECU determining section determines a role of the particular remote controller side ECU based upon the signals provided by the ECU discriminating terminal sections when the remote controller side ECU starts operating. The ECU determining section also reads out the most proper one of first through sixth exclusive use sections, which define the function of the ECU's role. A determination result is stored in first, second and third EPROMs so as to be used to determine the role.

摘要: A UI device of a digital camera has a display screen, a left-side touch strip provided outside of and on a left side of the display screen and a right-side touch strip provided outside of and on a right side of the display screen. The touch strips 22 and 24 can distinguishably detect a slide operation in a vertical direction by the user and a slide operation in a horizontal direction by the user. When a slide operation in the vertical direction is detected, a controller of the UI device recognizes the operation as a manipulative instruction in which the amount of movement is considered important, such as an operation for selection of items or scrolling of a screen. When a slide operation in the horizontal direction is detected, the controller recognizes the slide operation as a triggering manipulative instruction in which the amount of movement is not as important, such as a file deletion instruction or display or non-display of a new hierarchical item.

摘要: An ion gun 11 supplies an Ar gas into a main body 111 from a gas inlet 114, causes DC hot cathode discharge between a filament 113 and an anode 112 to generate Ar plasma. Next, a voltage gradient is applied to separated accelerator grids 116a, 116b having a bi-separated configuration in an ion ejecting direction. The each potential of the separated accelerator grids 116a, 116b is independently controlled by independently setting accelerator control switches 121a, 121b on or off to change the potential of that of the separated accelerator grids 116a, 116b which corresponds to an ion beam to be disabled.

摘要: A high-resistance silicon wafer is manufactured in which a gettering ability, mechanical strength, and economical efficiency are excellent and an oxygen thermal donor is effectively prevented from being generated in a heat treatment for forming a circuit, which is implemented on the side of a device maker. A heat treatment for forming an oxygen precipitate nucleus is performed at 500 to 900° C. for 5 hours or more in a non-oxidizing atmosphere and a heat treatment for growing an oxygen precipitate is performed at 950 to 1050° C. for 10 hours or more on a high-oxygen and carbon-doped high-resistance silicon wafer in which resistivity is 100 Ωcm or more, an oxygen concentration is 14×1017 atoms/cm3 (ASTM F-121, 1979) or more and a carbon concentration is 0.5×1016 atoms/cm3 or more. By these heat treatments, a remaining oxygen concentration in the wafer is controlled to be 12×1017 atoms/cm3 (ASTM F-121, 1979) or less. Thus, there is provided a high-resistance, low-oxygen and high-strength silicon wafer in which resistivity is 100 Ωcm or more and an oxygen precipitate (BMD) having a size of 0.2 μm is formed so as to have high density of 1×104/cm2 or more.

摘要: An air conditioner and a power line communication system high in reliability and free of malfunction facilitates the installation work such as the wiring. The air conditioner for conducting communication through a power line includes a bridge unit connected to at least an outdoor unit through a transmission line, and at least an indoor unit connected from the power line through a blocking filter. A side of the bridge unit far from the outdoor unit is connected between the blocking filter and the indoor unit. The bridge unit subjects a signal from the outdoor unit to spread spectrum modulation and transmits it by superposing the resulting signal on the power line. The superposed signal is received and demodulated by the indoor unit.
