    摘要: In order to control an apparatus, such as a rolling mill, a control device may use a pre-set operation pattern to generate a pre-set command signal, which is then modified. That first modification may be part of a feedback loop in dependence on the variation of a variable operation device of the apparatus, on a plurality of pre-set signals may be combined by fuzzy logic. Then the relationship between the modified pre-set command signal and the variation of the variable operation device is investigated to generate a compensation signal which is used to modify further the pre-set command signal. In a feedback loop, that further modification may compensate for changes in the operating point of the loop, due to changes in the apparatus being controlled. In a fuzzy logic arrangement, the compensation signal may be a further control pattern developed by the control device itself, which is combined with the pre-set patterns by fuzzy logic. The control device may be in the form of a series of modules.

    摘要: A chaotic character evaluating apparatus includes a processor for predicting future variation in sequential data and a processing for determining a degree of accuracy of the prediction, a processor for predicting variation of the sequential data in reverse and a processor for determining a degree of accuracy of the prediction, and a processing for comparing the degrees of accuracy with each other. If the degrees of the accuracy differ from each other, the variation of the sequential data is determined to be attributable to chaos, while when the degrees of accuracy are substantially equal to each other, the variation in the sequential data is determined to be attributable to noise. Further, a control apparatus for generating a control value from a feedback signal output from an object under control and having chaotic components eliminated is realized. Thus, it is possible to easily and accurately determine whether variation in the sequential data is attributable to chaos or noise.

    摘要: An improved system and method for controlling the interstand tension in a tandem rolling mill by computing the interstand tension on the basis of detected process data, computing the difference or error between the computed interstand tension and the desired value, and controlling the speed of the rolling stand drive motors so as to cancel the error. A shear is generally disposed upstream of the tandem rolling mill to shear the leading and trailing ends of a workpiece. When the shear is cutting the trailing end of the workpiece, a backward tension is produced between the shear and the first rolling stand of the tandem rolling mill, resulting in abrupt variations of the process data used for the computation of the interstand tension. The system operation will become unstable when such abruptly varying process data are used to compute the interstand tension for the purpose of the motor speed control. To avoid the instability of system operation, the process data detected immediately before the operation of the shear are held in a filter, and the interstand tension is computed on the basis of the process data thus held in the filter. The error between the computed interstand tension and the desired value is computed to provide the interstand tension control signal which is applied to the motor speed control unit.
