Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices that support an efficient sequence-based polar code description are described. In some cases, a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or a base station) may transmit a codeword including a set of information bits encoded using a polar code or receive a codeword including a set of information bits encoded using a polar code. As described herein, the wireless device may determine the bit locations of the information bits in the polar code based on a partition assignment vector. Specifically, the wireless device may partition bit-channels for one or more stages of polarization and assign information bits to partitions based on the partition assignment vector. Once the bit locations of the information bits are determined, the wireless device may decode a received codeword or transmit an encoded codeword based on the determined bit locations of the information bits.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In a new radio (NR) system, a wireless device may identify a candidate codeword for a channel employing polar coding. The wireless device may perform a decoding operation on the candidate codeword to determine candidate decoding paths corresponding to encoded information bits. The decoding operation may include multiple decoding path candidates, each of which is associated with a path metric. The wireless device may evaluate a spread metric to determine if a decoding hypothesis is incorrect or if the received codeword is too corrupted for decoding. The spread metric may be based on the path metrics of the decoding paths or soft metrics of the decoding paths determined based on a subset of bit channels of the polar code. The wireless device may normalize the spread metric to compensate for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) variation.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe discovering physical cell identifiers in wireless communications. It can be determined to discover a physical cell identifier of one or more cells in a zone based at least in part on detecting a condition. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a channel coding and decoding algorithm that provides for generalized polar codes, including the concatenation of a plurality of component codes via one-step polarization. In a further aspect, selection of suitable component codes in this scheme can result in a generalized polar code having a cyclic shift property, such that information can be implicitly communicated according to the magnitude of the cyclic shift. In yet another aspect, a decoding algorithm provides for reliable decoding of such generalized polar codes, including exploitation of time diversity in sequential transmissions. Abstract: Wireless communication devices are adapted to facilitate multiplexing of reference signals. According to one example, a wireless communication device can multiplex a first reference signal and a second reference signal utilizing code division multiplexing for transmission across a first resource element and a second resource element. Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes identifying a transmission timing of a control reference signal transmitted over a radio frequency spectrum band during an OFF duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band, in which the identified transmission timing is relative to a transition from the OFF duration to an ON duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band; receiving the control reference signal at the identified transmission timing; and performing a warm-up procedure, before the ON duration, based at least in part on the identified transmission timing of the control reference signal. A method for wireless communication at a wireless network includes indicating, to the UE, the transmission timing of the control reference signal; and transmitting the control reference signal at the indicated transmission timing. The OFF duration and the ON duration are coordinated with a wireless network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for outputting of codeword bits for transmission prior to loading all input bits. An example encoder may have multiple encoding branches. The encoder may divide the encoding branches into first and second encoding branch subsets, outputs of the first encoding branch subset being independent of inputs to the second encoding branch subset. The encoder may generate first and second subsets of output bits of a codeword in first and second encoding operations, the generating comprising inputting information bits of an information bit-vector and at least one frozen bit into respective encoding branches of the plurality of encoding branches and generating the first subset of output bits using the first encoding branch subset prior to generating the second subset of output bits using the second encoding branch subset. The encoder may output the first subset of output bits prior to outputting the second subset of output bits.
