Abstract: Disclosed are devices and processes for processing portions of a downlink signal using multiple receive chains. In one implementation, while message traffic is received at two or more receive chains of a receiver device, an inactivity timing may be initiated following a most recent activity event at the receiver device. Responsive to a request to acquire a portion of a downlink signal at the receiver device following initiation of the inactivity timer, at least one of the two or more receive chains may be scheduled to acquire the portion of the downlink signal. Other, unscheduled receive chains may be transitioned to a lower power state upon expiration of the inactivity timer.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more specifically to opportunistic wide area network (WAN) and device to device (D2D) coexistence. According to certain aspects of the present disclosure, a method of wireless communications by an apparatus is provided. The method generally includes communicating with a base station using fewer wireless chains than supported by the apparatus, determining at least a first wireless chain of the wireless chains is available for communicating, and communicating, via device-to-device communications, with another apparatus using one of the at least a first wireless chain while communicating with the base station.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for improving Positioning Reference Signaling (PRS) measurements. A method comprises receiving an instruction at a user equipment (UE) to perform a PRS measurement on a target band, wherein the PRS measurement is an inter-frequency PRS measurement associated with a PRS measurement occasion, estimating, for each transceiver of a plurality of transceivers associated with the UE, and based on one or more transmit frequency bands thereof, interference with the inter-frequency PRS measurement, identifying a primary aggressor transceiver from among the plurality of transceivers, wherein the primary aggressor transceiver has a highest estimated interference, identifying an uplink transmission window associated with the primary aggressor transceiver, comparing the uplink transmission window to the PRS measurement occasion, selecting the identified primary aggressor transceiver as a selected transceiver in response to a determination that there is complete overlap between the uplink transmission window and the PRS measurement occasion, tuning the selected transceiver to the target band, and performing the inter-frequency PRS measurement with the selected transceiver.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for obtaining a locus of an estimated location of a mobile device. According to an embodiment, a mobile device may obtain a plurality of timing advance parameters based, at least in part, on frames transmitted from the mobile device to a plurality of base stations on uplink channels to the plurality of base stations. A timing advance parameter may be selected from among the plurality of timing advance parameters to a particular base station of the plurality of base stations, wherein the particular base station is not a base station of a primary cell. The locus of the estimated location of the mobile device may then be determined based, at least in part, on a location of the particular base station and the selected timing advance parameter.

Abstract: With the Internet of Things, many devices and/or objects may be connected to each other using any number of wired or wireless technologies. A user may forget a that may be relevant to an upcoming event. The user may benefit from a mechanism that notifies the user when an event is upcoming in which a specific device or object may be germane but is not proximate to the user. Accordingly, an apparatus may identify a set of device types associated with an upcoming event. The apparatus may determine a device type of the set of device types is disconnected from the apparatus. The apparatus may select a device from a set of devices associated with the at least one device type based on a subset of a set of parameters. The apparatus may provide an indication of the selected device associated with the at least one device type.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) may include: performing, for a first subscription, a first handover from a first cell to a second cell; and performing, for a second subscription, a second handover from a third cell to a fourth cell. In some aspects, at least one of the performing the first handover or the performing the second handover is based on: a difference in signal strength between the first cell and the third cell exceeding a first threshold; and a difference in signal strength between the second cell and the fourth cell being equal to or less than the first threshold.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for reducing the delay in accumulating positioning measurements and improving positioning latency. An example method for reducing positioning measurement latency in a wireless network includes receiving assistance data including configuration information for a plurality of positioning reference signals, determining measurement gap requirements, requesting measurement gaps based on the measurement gap requirements, receiving measurement gap configuration information, determining a mobility state, and measuring or transmitting one or more positioning reference signals based at least in part on the measurement gap configuration information and the mobility state.

Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for enhancing positioning related protocols in order to indicate when one location session is different from another location session. One or more messages provided in a location session by a location server to a user equipment (UE) may include a session indication, such as a session identifier (ID), where a different session ID is provided for each location session. The session indication may be a new session indicator provided in an initial message in a location session or an end session indicator provided in a final message in a location session. An extra message may be sent by the location server indicating that the location session has ended. A correlation ID provided by a network entity to the location server may be included in messages as the session indication, e.g., where a different correlation ID is provided for each location session.
