    Abstract: The invention provides a powder coating apparatus, comprising a fresh powder container for receiving fresh powder, a recovery container for receiving powder recovered from the coating process, and a mixing container, which is connected to the fresh powder container and the recovery container via a first powder line and a second powder line, and comprising a control means for adjusting the mass flow rates of powder flowing in the first and the second powder line at a predetermined ratio of fresh powder and recovered powder.     Abstract: An apparatus is operable to sequentially spray powder onto each workpiece of a plurality of workpieces. The powder flows from an improved nozzle assembly as a series of pulses. Accumulation of powder on surfaces in the nozzle assembly is retarded by conducting a flow of fluid (air) from a source of fluid pressure through openings in the surfaces in the nozzle assembly. Thus, a plurality of openings are formed in a side wall of the nozzle assembly to enable fluid to flow through the openings in the side wall into the flow path of air and powder through the nozzle assembly to retard accumulation of powder on an inner side surface of the side wall. An inner deflector has an end surface which faces toward the workpiece and on which powder tends to accumulate. A flow of fluid is conducted through openings in the end surface of the inner deflector to retard the accumulation of powder on the end surface of the inner deflector.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for utilizing and controlling finer particles in a powder coating system returns the finer particles to the spraying apparatus to be sprayed on parts by the system. Finer particles are continuously removed from the system by application onto parts, and the accumulation of fines is thereby prevented. The finer particles may be sprayed through specially adapted spray guns, which also permits the utilization of the special advantages of spraying fine powder materials.     Abstract: An electrostatic powder spray coating system for car bodies is disclosed. Above the car bodies (14) are moved through the cabin and from which the spray organs (94) are supplied with powder. The powder container (92) is supplied with fresh powder and recycled powder from a supply container (36). Short paths between the powder container and spray organs allow precise metering and therefore a good coating quality.     Abstract: A filter unit (12) or a cyclone unit (22) can alternately be attached to a cabin (2) to draw powder out of the cabin. The units move on wheels.
