The invention relates to a microscope having an illumination beam path with wide field illumination of a sample and a first detection beam path having a spatially resolved surface receiver, which is reached by a first part of the detection light coming from the sample via the first detection beam path, or an image divider assembly for a microscope. In order to lengthen the optical path length, at least a second part of the detection light coming from the sample is masked out of the detection beam path and, via deflection means belonging to the detection beam path, is led into a second detection beam path and, preferably via further deflection means, is deflected back in the direction of the detection in such a way that detection light is applied to at least two partial regions beside one another on the surface receiver. At least the second part of the detection light runs in an optical element having an optical density that is increased as compared with the first detection beam path, in order to lengthen the optical path length, and the optical element is designed to be displaceable at an angle, preferably perpendicular, to the optical axis of the first detection beam path in order to adjust the optical path length, and has flat surfaces, at least on the light entry and light exit side thereof; a prism is provided, preferably a glass prism, preferably at least in the second detection beam path after a first beam deflection, for deflection in a direction parallel to the first detection beam path, in order to increase the path length and for reverse deflection.

A microscope monitoring device includes a pedestal, a flat light source, a microscope set, an image sensor, a motion stage and a controlling circuit board. The motion stage carries the microscope set and the image sensor and moves them according to a driving signal. Responding to a trigger signal, the image sensor senses the light passing through one or more culture tank on the multiple-well plate and the microscope set so as to generate an image signal. The controlling circuit board outputs the trigger signal and the driving signal to obtain an image of cells in the multiple-well plate. A microscope monitoring system including a server and the aforementioned microscope monitoring device is also provided.

In a case where the liquid droplet adhesion determination unit determines that the liquid droplets adhere to the bottom surface on the outer side of the container, the imaging apparatus main body images the observation target again after performing liquid droplet removal processing.

The microscope of an embodiment is arranged such that the sheet light enters the sample placement part from the bottom face and passing through the sample placement part to irradiate the sample, and fluorescence from the sample passes through the sample placement part toward the bottom face to be received by the observation lens. The microscope can, with this arrangement, utilize the advantages of a SPIM, and allows observation of a sample which observation is free from a restriction of the size of a sample.

During the sectioning observation, a spatial phase of the pattern is sequentially moved on the measuring object by a predetermined amount by the light modulation element, and sectioning image data indicating an image of the measuring object is generated based on a plurality of pieces of image data generated at a plurality of phases of the pattern based on the light receiving signal. During the normal observation, normal image data indicating an image of the measuring object is generated based on the light receiving signal.

The present invention provides a compact, inexpensive fluorescence microscope capable of high-resolution imaging with high light throughput suitable for use in both laboratory and field environments, and methods of use. A simple and inexpensive fluorescence microscope allows health care workers to perform various medical assays at the point of care instead of having to collect and transport biological samples to distant labs, and subsequently return the results to the patient. The microscope of the present invention is also useful for educational use and field use, and other uses as well.
