摘要: A standing microscope is provided that includes a desk having a tabletop disposed atop a plurality of vertically adjustable legs. Each vertically adjustable leg has an adjustable length and causes the tabletop to be vertically lowered or raised. The microscope may be converted into an upright and inverted configuration and includes an objective for receiving light reflected from a specimen, a condenser for illuminating the specimen, and a stage for supporting the specimen. The microscope rests on a supporting surface disposed under the tabletop and is inserted through an opening on the tabletop.

摘要: In the present invention, cells cultured inside the wells of a microplate are observed easily and clearly regardless of the height or curvature state of the liquid surface of the culturing liquid. Provided is an observation device that includes an illumination optical system that irradiates a transparent sample with illumination light from a light source, an objective lens that collects observation light from the sample, a detection optical system that detects the observation light collected by the objective lens, and a retroreflective member that is arranged opposite the objective lens with the sample interposed therebetween and in which a plurality of very small reflective elements are arrayed. The objective lens and the illumination optical system are arranged below the sample in the direction of gravity.

摘要: A microscope includes: a sample placement part having a placement surface on which to place a sample and a bottom face opposite to the placement surface; an observation lens; and an optical unit for generating sheet light and use of the microscope. The microscope of an embodiment is arranged such that the sheet light enters the sample placement part from the bottom face and passing through the sample placement part to irradiate the sample, and fluorescence from the sample passes through the sample placement part toward the bottom face to be received by the observation lens. The microscope can, with this arrangement, utilize the advantages of a SPIM, and allows observation of a sample which observation is free from a restriction of the size of a sample.

The predetermined processing step includes a step of receiving light, a step of obtaining the quantity of light, a step of calculating the difference or the ratio between the quantity of light and a reference quantity of light, and a step of calculating the amount of tilt in the surface of the sample from the difference or the ratio.

摘要: The present invention provides a novel simple, portable, compact and inexpensive approach for interferometric optical thickness measurements that can be easily incorporated into an existing microscope (or other imaging systems) with existing cameras. According to the invention, the interferometric device provides a substantially stable, easy to align common path interferometric geometry, while eliminating a need for controllably changing the optical path of the beam. To this end, the inexpensive and easy to align interferometric device of the invention is configured such that it applies the principles of the interferometric measurements to a sample beam only, being a single input into the interferometric device.
