摘要: A feminine hygiene pad having adhesive side extensions with enhanced longitudinal flexure and structural integrity is disclosed. Each adhesive side extension may be provided with a supplementary structure that creates an outboard supplemented zone of greater basis weight and/or flexural rigidity, than an inboard, lower basis weight and/or more flexible longitudinal flexure zone. The longitudinal flexure zone may be of a limited width such that in combination with the supplemented zone, longitudinally-oriented flexure effectively limited to the flexure zones, and reliably neat wrapping of the side extension about the inner leg edge of the user/wearer's underpants, is promoted, while chances of unwanted crumpling, bunching and/or misfolding of the side extension are reduced. Additional features described may enhance comfort and convenience for the user/wearer.

摘要: An absorbent article has attachment regions having body adhesive. The attachment regions have a protected condition where the body adhesive is fully covered. The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the protected condition to a fixed donning condition where a portion of the body adhesive is exposed and a portion of the body adhesive is covered. The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the fixed donning condition to a fully exposed condition where the body adhesive is fully exposed.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for analyzing a liquid comprising a plurality of different substances. The apparatus includes an absorber that comprises one or more layers of absorbent material for absorbing the liquid and one or more sensors embedded within the one or more layers of absorbent material. The sensors are configured to provide information associated with the different substances included in the absorbed liquid, and a location of a respective sensor is determined based on a corresponding substance detected by the sensor and a diffusion property of the substance.

摘要: An absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) capable of inhibiting leakage of a fluid insult generally extends in a plane defined by a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) contains fluid-shrinkable members (60,61), a topsheet (11;611;711;811), and a base pad (12;812) that includes a baffle (28;828) and an absorbent core (30) positioned between the topsheet (11;611;711;811) and the baffle (28;828). The topsheet (11;611;711;811) extends in the longitudinal direction to define a distal end (153) and an opposing proximal end (152). At least a portion of the proximal end (152) remains generally unbonded to the baffle (28;828). The fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) extend in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) so that at least a portion of the fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) are located adjacent to the proximal end (152) of the topsheet (11;611;711;811). Thus, when the fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) contract upon contacting a fluid insult, the proximal end (152) of the topsheet (11;611;711;811) can raise outwardly from the plane of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020). The raised area creates a barrier to the leakage of fluids from the center of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) towards its end. Contraction of the fluid-shrinkable members can also cause an outer region of the topsheet (11;611;711;811) to raise outwardly from the plane of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) to create a barrier to the leakage of fluid from the center of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) towards the side edge. Because such barriers are generally created only after contact with a fluid insult, their effectiveness is not diminished through use of the article prior to the insult.

摘要: The present invention addresses the problem of providing an absorbent article that is provided with a liquid-permeable layer, said liquid-permeable layer having convex portions that are hollow inside, has an improved ability to transfer menstrual blood from the liquid-permeable layer to an absorbent body and can reduce the amount of the menstrual blood remaining in the liquid-permeable layer (in particular, the internal cavities in the convex portions). To solve this problem, provided is a sanitary napkin provided with a liquid-permeable top sheet, a liquid-impermeable back sheet and an absorbent body that is interposed between the top sheet and the back sheet, wherein convex portions, said convex portions being hollow inside and formed in an excretion orifice contact region of the top sheet, are coated with a blood lubricity-imparting agent that has a kinetic viscosity of 0.01-80 mm2/s at 40° C., a water retention rate of 0.01-4.0 mass % and a weight-average molecular weight of less than 1,000.

摘要: A top sheet includes a skin contact surface configured to contact the skin of a wearer. The skin contact surface includes at least one projection and at least one recess. The top sheet further includes a back surface opposite the skin contact surface. The top sheet further includes a coating on the at least one projection. The coating essentially includes a blood slipping agent having a kinematic viscosity of 0.01 to 80 mm2/s at 40° C., a water holding percentage of 0.01 to 4.0 mass %, and a weight-average molecular weight of less than 1,000, and the coating is configured to slip from the skin contact surface, through the top sheet, to the back surface along with menstrual blood.

摘要: An absorbent article includes two planar liquid permeable topsheet layers with a first topsheet layer suspended from the longitudinal ends of the second topsheet layer. The first topsheet layer is of shorter length than the second topsheet layer such that the relaxed absorbent article includes a curvature along its length. The first topsheet layer defines a central opening and two end openings which allow for air circulation through the article and also for the second topsheet layer to be seen through the openings in the first topsheet layer. While the first topsheet layer is at least extensible, it is desirably elastic.
