摘要: This invention provides a laser marking method that can form a very minute mark of a predetermined shape, such as a letter or pattern, with clarity and high solidity, on the surface of a substrate. The laser marking method of the invention comprises the steps of (1) depositing a coloring material on the surface of a substrate of thermoplastic material to form a thin film of the coloring material, and (2) applying a laser beam to the thin film of the coloring material in conformity with a predetermined marking shape to cause the portions of the substrate irradiated with the laser beam to soften and to cause the thus softened portions to mix with the coloring material, thereby developing the predetermined marking shape on the surface of the substrate.

摘要: Disclosed are an intermediate transfer medium excelling in peel-off property on removing a transfer layer which include a protective layer with the aid of a peel-off layer of a thermal transfer sheet, and imparting a high durability to a print which is formed by transferring the transfer layer to a transfer receiving article, and retransferring the transfer layer onto the transfer receiving article easily, and a combination of the intermediate transfer medium and a thermal transfer sheet. The intermediate transfer medium includes a substrate sheet, a protective layer and a receiving layer which are layered on a surface of the substrate sheet. The protective layer includes two or more binder resins with mutually different number average molecular weights. A sum total of products, each calculated by multiplying the number average molecular weight of individual binder resin and its content ratio in the blend together, is ≧3000 and ≦17000.

摘要: The present invention is to eliminate loosening of a transfer film on a rear end side of a card caused due to collision of a front end of the card against a conveying roller pair provided downstream of a transfer roller to prevent wrinkles from occurring in a transferred image, by increasing a card conveying speed or reducing a feed speed of a transfer film 46 during a time from when transfer processing for a card K to immediately before or after the card front end rushes into a conveying roller pair 37, excessive loosening of the transfer film 46 occurring on the card rear end side is eliminated. After the card rear end passes through the transfer roller 33, the feed speed of the transfer film 46 is further reduced to eliminate the loosening of the transfer film 46 on the card rear end side.

摘要: Provided is a heat-sensitive transfer recording medium having a base material, and an undercoating layer and a dye layer sequentially laminated and formed on the base material. The undercoating layer is formed by applying and then drying an undercoating layer-forming application liquid containing polyvinyl pyrrolidone and polyvinyl alcohol whose tensile strength measured based on JIS K 7113 is not lower than 8 kg/mm2. The dye layer is formed by applying and then drying a dye layer-forming application liquid containing an anthraquinone compound as a thermal migratory dye.

摘要: A method for applying an image onto a surface (or substrate) of most any material, including thermoplastic, thermoset plastic, metal, metal alloys, wood, cellulose material, polymer, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, glass, ceramic, and combinations thereof, includes the steps of preparing a substrate for application of an image, placing the transfer sheet onto the prepared substrate, applying heat to the substrate and image sufficient to sublimate the image, allowing the image to absorb into the prepared substrate, and then curing the imaged substrate. Multiple substrates may be individually imaged and joined, if desired. One or more of the substrates may be at least partially transparent (e.g., clear, transparent or translucent) such that portions of other images, substrates or objects placed behind the one or more substrates are at least partially visible through the one or more substrates.
