Abstract:
Provided is a distributed and asynchronous implicit token carrier sense multiple access/collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol guaranteeing quality of service for both real time and non-real time traffic. The implicit token CSMA/CA protocol allocates a band in an entire bandwidth to voice traffic and allows the remaining bands to be used for data traffic. The implicit token CSMA/CA protocol includes applying a token passing protocol to transmit voice traffic in real time by having a band in an entire bandwidth allocated using a predetermined data frame and applying a CSMA/CA mechanism to transmit data traffic in non-real time by employing remaining bands not allocated to the voice traffic using another predetermined data frame.

Abstract:
A rate 7/8 MTR code encoding/decoding method and apparatus. The encoding method includes: generating a rate-7/8 MTR code for inputting 7-bit data and outputting a predetermined 8-bit codeword; checking whether codewords satisfy a predetermined constraint condition by connecting the 8-bit codeword and a subsequent 8-bit codeword; and if the codewords do not violate the constraint condition, not converting the codewords. The decoding method includes: checking whether the codewords satisfy a predetermined MTR constraint condition by connecting a current 8-bit codeword c(k) and a subsequent 8-bit codeword c(k+1); if the codewords violate the constraint condition, converting the codewords, and if the codewords do not violate the constraint condition, not converting the codewords; and decoding each converted 8-bit codeword into 7-bit data using a predetermined MTR code. Data is reliably reproduced with high write density, and large amounts of data are stored in and reproduced from a magnetic recording information storage medium.

A spin-on glass (SOG) composition and a method of forming a silicon oxide layer utilizing the SOG composition are disclosed. The method includes coating on a semiconductor substrate having a surface discontinuity, an SOG composition containing perhydropolysilazane having a compound of the formula —(SiH2NH)n— wherein n represents a positive integer, a weight average molecular weight within the range of about 4,000 to 8,000, and a molecular weight dispersion within the range of about 3.0 to 4.0, to form a planar SOG layer. The SOG layer is converted to a silicon oxide layer with a planar surface by curing the SOG layer. Also disclosed is a semiconductor device made by the method.
