摘要: The invention resides in improvements to refrigeration systems which rely on circulation of refrigerant gas through compression and expansion phases, and thereby discharging heat from a fluid to be cooled. The refrigeration systems of the invention include a refrigerant loop (24) and a lubricating oil loop (26). The oil loop includes a high capacity-to-volume oil to air oil cooler (48), for cooling the lubricating oil in the oil loop (26). The oil cooler includes a fan, and a variable speed drive for controlling the speed of rotation of the fan. The Preferred refrigerant is ammonia. Incorporating the above improvements into refrigeration systems enables an overall reduction in system sizing, and constancy in the temperature of the oil at the exit of the oil cooler. Such systems, having heat exchange capacity of at least 200,000 Btu/hr., up to at least 500,000 Btu/hr., can be mounted in a frame (14) whereby the overall refrigeration unit (10) comprising refrigeration system (13) and frame (14) can fit a standard 80,000 pound capacity truck. Preferred embodiments do not require cooling water; the only required utilities being a motive power source, used primarily to power the compressor (30). The shut-off valve (44) between the compressor and the heat source heat exchanger (28) is used to trap refrigerant in the heat source heat exchanger (28) when the refrigeration system (13) is shut down.

摘要: A skinfold caliper for self-measuring a skinfold thickness to calculate body fat, comprising, a first hand and a second hand and an integrated pressure sensor for sensing the pressure applied to a skinfold when the skin contact tips of the caliper hands are engaged with the base of a skinfold held by an opposing hand. When the optimum pressure is achieved, a button with a raised dome attached to the sensor emits an audible click to signal to the user, to stop applying further pressure. The skinfold caliper has a measurement ruler having a metric scale with measurements in millimeters on both sides of the ruler so that the caliper can be read from both sides by a right handed as well as a left handed person. A double-sided marker that slides along the ruler and indicates results of a skinfold measurement can be removed and reinstalled on the ruler.

摘要: The instant application discloses, among other things, ways to read a plan for a project and provide a list of components. This may be used, for example, to create a bill of materials for a building project, or a list of components for a circuit board. Any plan with distinctive marks identifying various component-types may be processed.

摘要: A ballast for energizing a lamp at a lighting level selected from a plurality of lamp lighting levels. The ballast includes a buck converter circuit configured to receive a DC voltage signal having a substantially constant magnitude. The buck converter circuit has a duty cycle for generating a lamp voltage output signal from the DC voltage signal. The lamp voltage output signal has a magnitude that is varied by the duty cycle to energize the lamp at the plurality of lamp lighting levels. A controller is configured to receive a dim input signal indicative of the selected lamp lighting level and to provide a control signal to the buck converter circuit as a function of the dim input signal. The control signal indicates a particular duty cycle corresponding to a lamp voltage output signal having a magnitude for energizing the lamp at the selected lamp lighting level.

摘要: An improved cardiopulmonary resuscitation device for resuscitating human infants is provided. The device includes a manually compressible and resiliently expandable bag constructed of an elastomer shell that encloses a breathable gas chamber having a volume capacity sufficient to inflate the lungs of a human patient when the bag is fully compressed. The shell includes at least one compressible region constructed of a wall having less resilience than the shell's average resilience. The less resilient region helps prevent over inflation of the patient's lungs. The device further includes a patient interface assembly that is communicable with a breathable gas outlet of the bag breathable gas chamber, and a breathable gas source communicable with an inlet of the bag breathable gas chamber. The device can optionally include a breathable gas manometer to monitor backpressure from the patient's lungs to further insure against over inflating the patient's lungs.

摘要: A lift truck cab having front, side, and rear faces, and a roof, mounting structure attached to the roof for suspending the cab from a mast of the lift truck in a manner that permits the front and side faces when installed on the truck to be hung in the manner of curtains without the necessity of direct fastening of lower portions of the front and side faces to the chassis/body of the truck. The cab construction affords generous operator space, high visibility, a convenient electrical raceway and ready access to truck control circuitry.
