摘要: Methods of rendering an object-based image are described. The methods receive a list of objects (951-955) in the image (950), the list ordering the objects in priority order from a lowest-priority object (951) to a highest-priority object (955). The objects are assigned to a first set of objects (951, 952) and/or a second set of objects (953-955). The first set of objects is rendered to an image store using a first rendering method that only renders a portion of an object if the portion is visible in the first set of objects and the second set of objects is rendered to the image store using a second rendering method that renders each object independently of the other objects in the second set. The assignment may be based on a priority order of a highest-compositing object (952). The assignment may be based on a group of overlapping objects (1101, 1102, 1103, 1105), where an object (1105) in the group requires compositing.

摘要: A wood gasification apparatus in which cellulosic material is transported by an auger through a housing and heated to vaporize at least a portion of the cellulosic material by frictional heating. The auger and housing define a spiral void through which the cellulosic material is propelled from the inlet to the outlet, and which continually decreases in volume from the inlet to the outlet. The ever decreasing volume of the void increases the pressure on the cellulosic material and maximizes the frictional heating until the material reaches a vaporization temperature.

摘要: A U-shaped frame for a seat belt retractor has two spaced arms made from a material of a predetermined thickness and having a cutout in the material of each arm for receiving a lockbar. Each cutout has an edge comprising a land portion for supporting the lockbar, which land portion is of a reduced thickness compared to the thickness of the material of the arms, to present a reduced surface area to the lockbar. The frame may be of pressed steel and the lockbar of die-cast non-ferrous material.

摘要: A method for the direct measurement of large strains in ropes in situ using a plastic optical fiber, for example, perfluorocarbon or polymethyl methacrylate and Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer or other light time-of-flight measurement instrumentation. Protective sheaths and guides are incorporated to protect the plastic optical fiber. In one embodiment, a small rope is braided around the plastic optical fiber to impose lateral compressive forces to restrain the plastic optical fiber from slipping and thus experience the same strain as the rope. Methods are described for making reflective interfaces along the length of the plastic optical fiber and to provide the capability to measure strain within discrete segments of the rope. Interpretation of the data allows one to calculate the accumulated strain at any point in time and to determine if the rope has experienced local damage.

摘要: The present invention is a system and method of providing a GR303 interface to a digital central office. A virtual line group is installed within a line frame holding a plurality of line groups for communicating with analog subscriber telephones. The digital central office utilizes internal proprietary signals to operate the line groups and route calls to a public switched telecommunications network. The virtual line group emulates a line group within the digital central office and provides an GR303 interface for communicating with remote digital loop carriers. The virtual line group provides the GR303 interface without modifying or adding software or hardware to the digital central office.

摘要: Disclosed are a modular audio/video assembly and method of assembly. The modular audio/video assembly can include a housing and a main board disposed within the housing. A plurality of interfaces can be associated with the main board and each interface can be coupleable to a module that provides audio/video functionality for the assembly. The main board and the respective modules are cooperative to provide a set of selected audio/video functions. The assembly can operate on all digitized signals for optimum fidelity. A host within the assembly has an interface to a remote control to transmit to said remote control information for the modules in the assembly.

摘要: A lens blocking device is disclosed that includes a frame, a light source mounted on the frame, a carriage having a first end and a second end mounted on the frame for sliding movement between first and second positions, a first mirror mounted on the carriage first end and a lens block holder mounted on the carriage second end and shiftable between third and fourth positions with respect to the carriage, a stage disposed between the light source and the carriage, and including an opening, for supporting an object, an at least partially translucent screen generating a display image operably connected to the support frame, at least one second mirror arranged to reflect an image of an object on the stage from the first mirror, when the carriage is in the first position, onto the screen, and an actuator operably connected to the carriage. The actuator shifts the carriage between the first position and the second position and shifts the block holder between the third position and the fourth position, and the display image on the screen is superimposed over an image of the object on the stage when the carriage is in the second position.
