摘要： Methods and apparatus for removing emboli during an endarterectomy procedure are provided. The present invention provides a proximal catheter disposed proximal to a stenosis and a distal catheter disposed distal to the stenosis. Each catheter may selectively communicate with a venous return catheter via a manifold having a setting controlled by a physician. Blood flows into an aspiration lumen of the distal catheter and is reperfused into a remote vein via the venous return catheter. Additionally, emboli generated during the procedure are removed via an aspiration lumen of the proximal catheter, and filtered blood then is reperfused into the remote vein.

摘要： The present invention is directed to apparatus and methods for treating a vascular occlusion by providing an infusion catheter having an atraumatic tip and at least one delivery port configured to infuse fluid into the occlusion. The fluid that is infused dilutes the occlusion and reduces adhesion of the occlusion to an intima of the vessel wall, thereby causing the occlusion to dislodge. Emboli generated in the process are directed into an emboli removal catheter for removal.

摘要： Apparatus is provided for accessing a body cavity comprising a tubular member having a deflated insertion configuration and an inflated expanded configuration that facilitates viewing within the body cavity. The apparatus is formed by everting a length of material upon itself to form a tube having a single circumference seam at the distal end, and includes an inflation tube that is sufficiently rigid to assist in inserting the tubular member into a body cavity in the deflated insertion configuration. The tubular member further includes a pattern of staggered contact areas that configured so as to avoid the creation of longitudinal features that preferentially bend when loaded, thereby ensuring that tubular member provides a substantially circular central lumen.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for improved administration of brachytherapy in the treatment of prostate disease. More particularly, a prostate visualization device is provided comprising a catheter coupled to at least one deployable member at the distal end of the catheter. The deployable member is preferably manufactured from a shape memory alloy having a petal-shaped configuration suitable for engaging and defining the proximal region of a patient's bladder. The deployable member may comprise tubing filled with air or other radiopaque agents to facilitate ultrasonic imaging of the deployable members near the bladder/prostate junction.

摘要： A device for the collection and removal of body tissue and/or parts in laparoscopic surgery having an elongated tubular member with proximal and distal extremities and a bore extending therethrough. A sack formed of a flexible material with an opening therein is secured by a rod inside the tubular member to the distal extremity of the elongated tubular member. A drawstring is secured to the sack and circumscribes the opening of the sack and controls the opening and closing of the sack. The drawstring extends into the bore and is connected to a slide mounted around the tubular member. A handle is secured to the proximal extremity of the tubular member and finger rings are secured to the proximal extremity of the slide. Movement of the slide towards the distal extremity of the tubular member opens the sack once inside the patient for receiving the tissue or body part, while movement of the slide in a distal direction causes the sack to close to capture the tissue or body part.
