摘要: A choke device for an electric machine system is provided. The choke device includes a common-mode choke including a magnetic core configured in cross-section as a geometric shape including a hollow center. The choke device further includes a plurality of electric transmission lines configured for transmitting electrical energy in alternating current, wherein the plurality of electric transmission lines is routed through the hollow center. The geometric shape includes a number of sides based upon a number of the electric transmission lines present and is configured for minimizing or reducing an overall flux length of the magnetic core.

The drive system includes a battery, a rectifier, and a processor. The processor is configured to connect the rectifier between an alternating current (AC) port of an outlet of an external power grid and the battery, the rectifier configured to convert between an AC power at the AC port on a grid side of the rectifier and a direct current (DC) power at a vehicle side of the rectifier in order to transfer power bi-directionally between the external power grid and the battery.

摘要: An energy storage system includes a plurality of batteries coupled in series, a plurality of first isolated DC-DC power converters each having first and second sides, a DC bus coupled to the second sides of the plurality of first isolated DC-DC power converters, and a second isolated DC-DC power converter coupled in parallel with the plurality of first isolated DC-DC power converters. Each of the first sides of the plurality of first isolated DC-DC power converters is coupled to at least one of the batteries. The second isolated DC-DC power converter includes a first side coupled to the plurality of batteries and a second side coupled to the DC bus. The second isolated DC-DC power converter is configured to mitigate a transient load condition on the DC bus.

摘要: A method for charging an electric vehicle is provided. Aspects include configuring a switchable battery of the electric vehicle in a fast-charging configuration by connecting a first battery pack of the switchable battery to a first charging source and a second battery pack of the switchable battery to a second charging source and obtaining one or more characteristics of the first battery pack and the second battery pack. Aspects also include identifying the first battery pack as a master pack and the second battery pack as a follower pack based on a determination that the first battery pack has a lower voltage level than the second battery pack. Aspects further include adjusting a duty cycle of a switchable active load connected in parallel to the follower pack based on the one or more characteristics of the first battery pack and the second battery pack.

摘要: A system in a vehicle includes memory to store values obtained for a battery that supplies current to one or more loads. The values include battery state of charge. A processor obtains a measured battery current from a battery current sensor and a measured total current from a current sensor at a battery center that supplies the current directly to the one or more loads, obtain a generator current or a direct current-to-direct current (DC-DC) converter current from the measured total current and the battery current, determine a maximum available current as a sum of a maximum available battery current and either the generator current or the DC-DC converter current, and stop a supply of the current to one or more of the one or more loads based on a result of a comparison of the maximum available current with current draw by the one or more loads.
