Abstract: A shaft system includes an outer shaft including an inner surface defining a conduit and an inner shaft extending within the conduit. The inner shaft includes a radially extending passage having a first end and a second end. A centrifugal force activated damper extends between the outer shaft and the inner shaft. The centrifugal force activated damper includes a first member arranged between the inner shaft and the inner surface at the first end of the radially extending passage, a second member arranged between the inner shaft and the inner surface at the second end of the radially extending passage, and a connecting member extending through the radially extending passage. Rotation of the shaft system causes the first member and the connecting member to shift away from the second member into the inner surface of the outer shaft.

Abstract: An electrical machine assembly includes an armature assembly defining a rotational axis and a rectifier assembly including at least one diode and defining a central rectifier axis. The armature assembly is configured and adapted to be coupled with a rotor shaft for relative rotation therewith. The central rectifier axis is at a non-parallel angle relative to the rotational axis. A rectifier assembly includes a first diode and a second diode stacked with the first diode. The rectifier assembly includes an AC terminal positioned between the first diode and the second diode and a DC positive output pin electrically coupled to the first diode. A portion of the AC terminal extends outward from the rectifier assembly at a non-parallel angle relative to the central longitudinal axis of the rectifier assembly. A central longitudinal axis of the rectifier assembly can be parallel to the DC positive output pin.

An input shaft is configured between the engine shaft and the rotor shaft and a rotor coupling configured to sealing connect the rotor shaft and the input shaft, the rotor coupling configured to providing sealing engagement between the rotor shaft and the input shaft during at least one of relative axial displacement and relative radial displacement between the rotor shaft and the input shaft.

Abstract: A clutch assembly includes a clutch pack, and a rotating control piston selectably engageable with the clutch pack via movement of the clutch piston along an axis of rotation of the control piston. The clutch piston includes a piston member engageable with the clutch pack, a cover plate installed into the piston member to define an enclosed volume, and an axially fixed chamber divider positioned in the enclosed volume to divide the enclosed volume into a control pressure chamber and a pressure balancing chamber. Both the control pressure chamber and the pressure balancing chamber are filled with hydraulic fluid, and the control piston is moved between a disengaged position and an engaged position via modulation of hydraulic pressure in the control pressure chamber.

Abstract: An aircraft power system includes an auxiliary power unit (APU), a generator, and a constant speed drive (CSD). The APU drives an APU drive shaft at a first rotational speed during a first condition and a second rotational speed during a second condition. The generator is rotatably coupled to a generator shaft and produces an AC voltage having a target frequency in response to rotation of the generator shaft at a target rotational speed. The CSD unit receives the first rotational speed from the APU drive shaft and rotates the generator shaft at the target rotational speed based on the first rotational speed. The CSD further receives the second rotational speed from the APU drive shaft and rotates the generator shaft at the target rotational speed based on the second rotational speed.

Abstract: A lamination for use in an integrated drive generator is formed from a plurality of plates having a body including a pair of opposed cylindrical surfaces. Non-cylindrical ditches are defined circumferentially intermediate the pair of cylindrical surfaces. A plurality of passages are formed in an outer periphery of the cylindrical surfaces including relatively large holes extending through a slot to the outer periphery. Grooves are formed intermediate the relatively large holes.
