    摘要: It is an object to provide a microstructure having cylindrical microdomains oriented in the film thickness direction and arranged in a regular pattern, for which a microphase separation phenomenon of a block copolymer is utilized. The process for producing the microstructure includes 2 steps; the first step for arranging, on a substrate (40), a polymer layer at least containing a block copolymer having a first block which constitutes a continuous phase (10) of the microstructure (30) and a second block which constitutes microdomains (20) dispersed in the continuous phase (10) and oriented in the thickness direction; and second step for thermally treating the substrate (40) at a neutral temperature (Tn), at which a first material (A) and second material (B) which constitute the respective first and second blocks have substantially the same interfacial tension with the substrate (40) surface (X).

    摘要: An assay system is provided in which gossypol is used as a biological marker to detect evolved resistance of insects to Bt cotton. Detection of gossypol using a monoclonal antibody ELISA-based protocol enables at risk populations of insects to be evaluated for evolved resistance to Bt present in a genetically modified cotton.The specificity of the monoclonal antibody to gossypol also enables the production of nanoparticles having a conjugated monoclonal antibody which retains the ability to selectively bind gossypol. Accordingly, nanoparticles can be provided with additional target ligands, such as antibodies, so as to specifically attach to tumors or cancer cells thereby delivering the gossypol to the target cells.

    摘要: A sigma-delta modulator includes a discrete time circuit that receives a digital feedback signal and an input signal, where the input signal includes information and one or more analog input currents. The discrete time circuit converts the digital feedback signal into an analog feedback signal during a first discrete time and sums the analog feedback signal and the one or more analog input currents during a second discrete time to yield one or more summed signals. A continuous time circuit includes passive elements, is coupled to the discrete time circuit, and operates to filter the one or more summed signals using a first-order filter and a second-order filter in order to generate one or more filtered signals. A quantizer is coupled to the continuous time circuit and generates the digital signal using the one or more filtered signals, where the digital signal comprising the information.

In the subject methods, an effective amount of Ca2+/calcineurin/NF-ATc signaling pathway modulatory agent is administered to the host. In many embodiments, the Ca2+/calcineurin/NF-ATc signaling pathway modulatory agent is an NF-ATc antagonist, e.g., in those embodiments of inhibiting angiogenesis. The subject methods find use in a variety of different applications, including the inhibition of tumor growth and the treatment of disease conditions characterized by tumor presence. Also provided are methods of screening for agents that inhibit angiogenesis by modulating the Ca2+/calcineurin/NF-ATc signaling pathway.

In an exemplary embodiment, the stress test system includes a hierarchical lock file acting as a repository for lock and state data of storage area network resources. Further, such embodiment includes a plurality of knowledge sources communicatively coupled to the hierarchical lock file for monitoring activities of the storage area network resources and injecting faults. In addition, the system includes a controller for controlling access to the hierarchical lock file and coordinating activities of the plurality of knowledge sources. The plurality of knowledge sources are individual stress action words which are utilized by the hierarchical lock file to coordinate multiple, parallel stress tests against storage area network components without requiring modifications to the underlying code to be made.

    摘要: A method for communicating information is disclosed wherein a time slot is allocated in a time division multiple access system for a transmission from a subscriber to a headend. Synchronization of a clock of the subscriber with respect to a clock of the headend is enhanced using a message transmitted from the headend to the subscriber which is indicative of an error in a subscriber transmission time with respect to the time slot. A feedback loop process is used to determine at least one of fractional symbol timing correction and carrier phase correction of a transmission from the subscriber to the headend. Filter coefficients are generated at the headend from a ranging signal transmitted from the subscriber to the headend and transmitting the filter coefficients from the headend to the subscriber, the filter coefficients being used by the subscriber to compensate for noise in a transmission from the subscriber to the headend.
