摘要: A vertical cavity surface emitting laser array is disclosed which allows wires for individually driving devices arrayed at a small pitch to be provided on the laser array with ease and with a high degree of freedom is provided. The vertical cavity surface emitting laser array includes a first substrate including a plurality of vertical cavity surface emitting laser devices each having an active layer disposed between reflection mirrors constituting a resonator, and a second substrate including wires for providing electrical contact with the surface emitting laser devices and having a configuration which permits transmission of light emitted from the surface emitting laser devices. In the vertical cavity surface emitting laser array, the second substrate is bonded to the first substrate on the laser emitting side of the first substrate.

摘要: The invention enables people to easily identify a printout image even in the case where the printout image is printed with a tint block image added thereon. More specifically, a physical page that is a printable area of printing paper is divided into areas, an intended document/image is printed in each of these divided areas (logical pages), and a tint block image is printed only in an area that is in this physical page but does not belong to any of the logical pages. Using a fact that a margin is produced in the so-called N-up printing, the tint block image is printed in this margin. Thereby, the tint block image can be printed in a location that will not interfere with whatever printout image to be printed.

摘要: The present invention provides an optical element which can reliably acquire a difference of refractive indices between a member under a photonic crystal layer and the crystal layer without using such a stacking technique as in conventional processes; a method for manufacturing the optical element; and a semiconductor laser device with the use of the optical element. The optical element has the first layer 500 and the second layer 400 formed on a substrate 100, wherein the second layer includes pores and has a refractive-index periodically changing structure in which a refractive index periodically changes in an in-plane direction; and the first layer has an oxidized region with a lower refractive index than the refractive index of the second layer, in a lower side of the pores of the second layer.

摘要: To provide a printing system and a printing apparatus which can ensure high-speed, normal printing with small memory requirements even when lots of print commands are sent to a printer. The printing apparatus includes a print mode determination unit which judges whether intermediate-language data can fit in a page memory when print command data is converted in normal print mode and selects the normal print mode if the data can fit in, but selects compressed print mode if the data cannot fit in. Furthermore, the print mode determination unit includes a data reprocessing unit which, when the compressed print mode is selected, reduces any compressible part of intermediate-language data which corresponds to fine-gradation image data in normal print mode using a compression/decompression process, output gradation conversion process, clipping process, or reversible compression process whichever is applicable before storing it again in the page memory.

摘要: In a client PC, after receiving drawing data, the log information generation unit (400) of a printer driver (203) refers to the current time, and collects a keyword, print job attribute item, and the like which satisfy an extraction condition corresponding to a time period including the current time. The log information generation unit groups the collected pieces of information into a log information file (320), and saves it in a log information storage server (1000). A search unit can read saved log information from the log information file in accordance with a desired search condition. The system administrator or the like inspects the read log information, and if information may leak, investigates it.
