Abstract:
To provide a PTFE laminated article having a sufficient adhesive strength and a PTFE backing sheet having a low permeability, in which a specific weight of a PTFE sheet can be maintained high. A specific weight of the PTFE sheet is maintained at 2.175 or more by carrying out thermo-fusing of the PTFE sheet and a film or sheet of heat-meltable resin such as PFA after interposing a layer of PTFE fine particles between them or by carrying out treatment for preventing a rapid temperature lowering after the thermo-fusing without interposing the layer of PTFE fine particles.

A tetrafluoroethylene copolymer comprising 30 to 81 mole % of tetrafluoroethylene and a 70 to 19 mole % of at least one other monomer, and having terminal carbonate groups at polymer chain ends, which has a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 100 g/10 min. at 200° C. under a load of 5 kg, and a melting point of 90 to 200° C. This copolymer can be firmly adhered directly to other materials such as general-purpose resins while maintaining the good properties of fluororesins such as chemical resistance, weather resistance, solvent resistance, non-tackiness, electrical insulation, stain-proofing properties, and flame retardance, molded at a lower temperature than conventional fluororesins, and heat bonded or co-extruded with general-purpose resins having low heat resistance.

An electrophotographic printer includes: a photosensitive drum; a latent image forming portion for forming electrostatic latent images on the photosensitive drum based on print information; a developing portion for developing the electrostatic latent images using toner; an intermediate transfer drum for receiving the toner images from the photosensitive drum; a transportation portion for delivering a recording medium; and a transfer roll for transferring the toner image from the intermediate transfer roll to the recording medium. A pressure force P.sub.1 between the photosensitive drum and the intermediate transfer drum is less than a pressure force P.sub.2 between the transfer roll and the intermediate transfer drum. P.sub.1 and P.sub.2 may also have the relationship P.sub.1 .gtoreq.P.sub.2 sin.theta., where .theta. is an angle formed between a line through the centers of rotation of the intermediate transfer drum and the transfer roll, and a line perpendicular to a line through the centers of rotation of the photosensitive drum and the intermediate transfer drum. The transfer roll may be separated from the intermediate transfer drum when the image is transferred from the photosensitive drum to the intermediate transfer drum.
