Abstract:
The present invention relates to a denture adhesive article comprising: a) a safe and effective adhesive amount of a water soluble denture adhesive component; b) a safe and effective amount of a component selected from the group consisting of a water soluble plasticizer, a water soluble carrier, and mixtures thereof; wherein the article is bioerodible; and wherein the article has dry tack.
Abstract:
A high speed sensing scheme for a non-volatile memory array is disclosed. The memory array includes non volatile memory cells arranged in a complementary bitline configuration includes precharge circuits for precharging the bitlines to a first voltage level such as VSS, a reference circuits for applying a reference charge on the reference bitlines of the complementary bitline pairs, and bitline sense amplifiers for sensing a voltage differential between the complementary bitline pairs. A voltage on the data bitline being changed when a programmed non-volatile memory cell connected to an activated wordline couples the wordline voltage to the data bitline.
Abstract:
Support is provided for multiple late binding objects with a same identifier, in an operating environment that only supports registration of a single late binding object with the same identifier. Each of a plurality of processes is associated with one of a plurality of late binding objects, such that at least two processes are each associated with a separate late binding object having the same identifier. Responsive to one of the plurality of processes attempting to access a late binding object by its identifier, a determination is made as to which late binding object is associated with the process. The associated late binding object is made available to the process.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing secure access to a computer system. An access device divides the password into multiple segments and places them in data packets. In one embodiment, an authentication server has multiple addresses, and each packet is sent to a different address. The server then reassembles the password. In another embodiment, when the server receives a password, the server sends an index value back to the access device, which then accesses the server on another address indicated by the index value. Alternatively, the password is sent to multiple addresses for the server, and the server determines whether any of the received packets have been altered. The multiple password packets may be forced to follow different paths to the server, thereby denying hackers the ability to intercept all of the password characters or determine the inter-packet timing factor. The system is effective against passive and active hackers, Trojans, and phishing techniques.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed for enhancing communications line records with Global Positioning System coordinates. One embodiment acquires Global Positioning System information and provides the Global Positioning System information to assemble a line record.
Abstract:
A heating appliance includes an outer enclosure including a transparent front panel, a combustion chamber enclosure, and a variable speed blower. The combustion chamber enclosure is positioned within the outer enclosure and defines a combustion chamber wherein radiant heat is generated. The combustion chamber enclosure also includes a transparent front panel. The blower is configured to generate an adjustable airflow between the outer enclosure front panel and the combustion chamber enclosure front panel and to exhaust the airflow to a remote location. The airflow absorbs at least some of the radiant heat and varying a speed of the blower controls an amount of radiant heat transferred from the combustion chamber to a living space in which the heating appliance is exposed.
Abstract:
A system for providing for display/dispensing of a nutritional supplement useful in mitigating the deleterious effects of over-imbibation at a location convenient to guests at an overnight accommodation, and can include providing same in guest rooms and can include providing for adding a cost of use of same to the cost of accommodation.
Abstract:
A system and method for generating and authenticating a password to protect a computer system from unauthorized access. The characters of the password are placed in data packets by an access device. Prior to sending the packets, the device inserts a predefined number of blank packets between each of the character-carrying packets. The number of blank packets is retrieved from a number sequence that is shared between the access device and an authentication device. The authentication device determines whether the received set of password characters matches a stored set of password characters, determines whether the received number of blank packets between the received character-carrying packets matches a predefined number of blank packets, and positively authenticates the access device only if both conditions are met.
Abstract:
A self-sealing closure device adapted to selectively seal an extra-ocular end of a cannula. The closure is designed to prevent the flow of fluids through the cannula in the absence of an instrument being positioned within the cannula. The elastic closure includes a first portion that extends at least partially around an outside surface of the extra-ocular end of the cannula and a second portion that extends at least partially within the extra-ocular end of the cannula. A passageway extends through the second portion of the closure and is selectively sealed by a septum having multiple elastic flaps. The flaps are selectively moveable to control the movement of fluids through the elastic closure.
Abstract:
A sheath has a cannulated portion having a wall with an inner diameter and an outer diameter. A valve is formed within wall. The valve has a first position occluding fluid flow through the sheath and a second position permitting fluid flow through the sheath.
