Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an event reporting service. The event reporting service may enable network devices, such as an application function, to subscribe to usage reporting in which notifications for a usage event may be reported periodically or non-singularly. The event reporting service may include data instances in messages exchanged between core network devices that configures the usage and event notification.

A network device of a core network may receive a registration request message that includes a request for an end device policy. The network device may perform a registration procedure and a policy procedure pertaining to an end device. The network device determines when the registration and the policy procedures are completed. The network device transmits a registration response that includes an end device policy to an end device.

Abstract: A network device may provide heartbeat requests to a plurality of network function producers, and may set states of the plurality of network function producers to suspended based on not receiving responses to the heartbeat requests after a predetermined time. The network device may receive, from a network function consumer, a discovery request requesting identification of network function producers providing a service or with a network function type, and may determine, based on the discovery request, that none of the plurality of network function producers are available based on the states of the plurality of network function producers being set to suspended. The network device may provide, to the network function consumer, a discovery response that includes a list of the plurality of network function producers with status indicators set to active.

Abstract: A method for performing service authorization for private networks based on an enhanced PLMN identifier. The method includes receiving an attach request from a user equipment device (UE) via a private network, where the attach request includes an international mobile subscriber identity value (IMSI). The method further includes determining, based on the IMSI, an organization identifier and a token associated with the private network, where the token is included in an enhanced PLMN for granting the UE access to resources in the private network. The method further includes sending the token to the UE and a network proxy within the private network.

The device of a network may identify, from the session configuration message, a quality of service (QoS) profile for the application session. The device of a network may determine that the application is authorized to use a network slice of the network that satisfies one or more QoS thresholds of the QoS profile. The device of a network may identify resources of the network that can be configured to satisfy the one or more QoS thresholds. The device of a network may instantiate the resources for communication of application data of the application session. Instantiating the resources may enable the UE to communicate the application data via the network slice using the resources.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to generate a Radio Access Network (RAN) slice in a Fifth Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) base station designated for a particular type of service; determine requirements associated with the generated RAN slice; and reserve resources of the 5G NR base station for the generated RAN slice, wherein reserving the resources includes specifying one or more antenna beams generated by the 5G NR base station. The processor may be further configured to obtain criteria for categorizing user equipment (UE) device sessions as belonging to the generated RAN slice; identify UE device sessions as belonging to the RAN slice based on the obtained criteria; and apply the determined requirements to the identified UE device session using the reserved resources.

Abstract: One or more network devices create, in a network, a network slice with multiple network slice instances (NSIs) having multiple slice instance variations, where each of the multiple slice instance variations services a slice variation type and one of multiple slice variation levels. The slice variation type corresponds to a first performance characteristic of one or more performance characteristics met by the network slice while servicing sessions and the multiple slice variation levels sub-divide the slice variation type into multiple different levels of service within the slice variation type. The one or more network devices allocate, instantiate, and provision virtual resources for each of the multiple NSIs; and services User Equipment (UE) sessions via one of the multiple slice instance variations based on UE selection of one of the multiple slice variation levels of the slice variation type.
