摘要: A system for detecting stenosis in a patient. The system includes an implantable sensing unit having a turbulence sensor and a communication device for transmitting a signal from the turbulence sensor. The system also includes a cardiac sensor for generating a signal corresponding to cardiac activity and a processing device configured to receive signals from the sensing unit and from the cardiac sensor. The processing device is configured to determine a time window corresponding to cardiac activity, to determine a turbulence level from the turbulence signal within the time window, and to detect the presence of stenosis from the turbulence level.

摘要: A cardiac sensor system includes implanted cardiac sensor assemblies and an external controller which receives information from the implanted sensors. The sensors permit direct measurement of a number of physiologic parameters. The external controller permits calculation of a variety of performance values based on the measured physiological parameters. Optionally, patient oxygen consumption can be measured externally and combined with the internally measured physiologic parameters in order to calculate a variety of unique performance values.

摘要: Methods, apparatus and systems for enhancing cardiac pacing generally provide for measuring at least one cardiac characteristic, calculating at least one cardiac performance parameter based on the measured characteristic(s), and adjusting at least one functional parameter of a cardiac pacing device. Devices may include at least one catheter (such as a multiplexed catheter with one or more sensors and/or actuators), at least one implant (such as a sensor implantable in a heart wall), or a combination of both. Various cardiac performance parameters and/or pacing device performance parameters may be weighted, and the parameters and their respective weights may be used to determine one or more adjustments to be made to the pacing device. In some instances, the adjustments are made automatically.

摘要: A method and a device for measuring features in a fluid such as pressure, flow rate, and temperature measurements is disclosed. The sensing device includes at least two sensing elements, all of which are mounted and/or fabricated on a chip and connected to a chip circuit, and a power supply and measuring circuit placed outside the chip and connected to the chip circuit. According to the invention the power supply and measuring circuit is controllable to feed at least two different kinds of signaling to the chip circuit. Furthermore the sensing elements are connected to each other and to the power supply and measuring circuit such that at least one of the sensing elements, controllable by the signaling from the power supply, can be individually measured. The chip is adapted to be mounted on a catheter or a guide wire.

摘要: A device for measuring physiological parameters within an aneurysm sac that has been excluded from blood flow by an endoprosthesis. The device is comprised of at least two sensors, one placed in the aneurysm sac and another in a systemic artery. A differential between the readings of the two sensors can then be calculated, making the device easily calibrated in vivo and insensitive to changes in atmospheric pressure.

摘要: Continuous remote monitoring of patients based on data obtained from an implantable hemodynamic monitor provides an interactive patient management system. Using network systems, patients are remotely monitored to continuously diagnose and treat heart-failure conditions. A screen displayable summary provides continuous feedback and information to physicians, patients and authorized third parties. The quick look summary includes various sites and presentation tailored to match the patients' and physicians' needs. The quick look summary further includes intelligent features that understand and retain the user's interests, preferences and use patterns. Patients, physicians and other caregivers are seamlessly connected to monitor and serve the chronic needs of heart-failure patients in a reliable and economic manner.

摘要: Implantable apparatus for measuring a fluid flow in the body of a subject, including a stent, having a generally cylindrical radial outer wall and a central lumen. A flow parameter sensor is fixed to the stent, and measures a parameter relating to a rate of blood flow through the stent. A transmitter transmits signals responsive to the measured parameter to a receiver outside the body.
