摘要: The present invention provides various novel matrix-supported texaphyrins in which a polymeric or solid matrix is covalently modified by the addition of one or more texaphyrins or texaphyrin derivatives. Described are methods of making various polymer-supported texaphyrins, including texaphyrin chromatographic supports, and devices such as catheters, as may be used, for example, in the separation of neutral and anionic species and in applications concerning phosphate ester hydrolysis, other catalytic schemes, MRI, and PDT.

摘要: A method for immobilizing polyethylene oxide (PEO) star molecules in the form of hydrogel layers and a product thereof are disclosed. The PEO star molecules are biocompatible and demonstrate non-thrombogenic properties. As such, the PEO star molecule layers have numerous biomedical applications, such as on contact lenses. The hydrogel layers contain a high percentage of terminal hydroxyl groups for attachment of affinity ligands and can be used for separating and purifying therapeutic proteins.

摘要: Hydrogels are prepared by subjecting to poymerization conditions an aqueous admixture comprising a major amount of an organic monomer which is characterized by a polymerizable ethylenic group ##STR1## as illustrated by N,N-dimethylacrylamide, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate or methoxytriethylene glycol methacrylate, and a minor amount of solubilized collagen. The reactants employed are at least partially soluble in the aqueous reaction medium. The hydrogels thus prepared are novel shaped articles having utility in the medical and cosmetic fields. Contact lenses of such hydrogels exhibit high water content, high oxygen permeability and good mechanical strength characteristics.
