摘要： An injection molded plastic preform for forming by blow molding a container such as a bottle. The preform is of a laminated construction and in the body area includes inner and outer layers of the same plastic and an intermediate layer of a different plastic. The bottom portion of the preform is provided with a core layer of still a third plastic with the injection temperature of the third layer being sufficient to erode the contacted part of the intermediate layer which is of a lower melt temperature. The third plastic may be the same plastic as the first plastic, but injected at a higher temperature. Generally speaking, the neck finish of the preform will be of a single layer of the first material, the body of the preform will be of a three ply construction which is also true of the bottom with there being an intermediate area of five ply where the bottom core layer projects into the lower portion of the intermediate layer.

摘要： A method for molding double-layered preforms in an injection, stretching and blow molding machine. Plastic material is injected into a cavity formed by a mated inner preform and core mold and into another cavity formed by a mated outer preform, neck mold and a core mold carrying an inner preform to form respectively inner and outer preforms. The inner core mold is lifted, while carrying an inner preform, and moved over the outer preform mold. The outer core mold is lifted and the neck mold strips the double-layer preform formed by the injection of the outer preform onto the inner preform. The neck mold carrying the double-layer preform is moved away from alignment with the outer preform mold and advances the preform to heating, stretching and blow molding stages. Another neck mold is moved into alignment with the outer preform mold prior to lowering the core mold carrying the inner preform into the outer preform mold. Simultaneous to lowering the core mold into the outer preform mold, the previously stripped core mold is lowered into the inner preform mold and plastic material is injected into the respective cavities.

摘要： A process for producing a stretched multilayer polyester bottle which comprises axially stretching a bottomed multilayer preform comprised of an inside and an outside polyester surface layer and an interlayer of a gas-barrier resin provided therebetween optionally through an adhesive under conditions which induce molecular orientation of the polyester and simultaneously stretching it circumferentially by blowing. The multilayer preform is produced by coating a solution or emulsion of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer on one surface of a primary preform of the polyester molded in advance, drying the coated preform at a temperature at which no whitening owing to the crystallization of the polyester occurs to thereby form a thin but continuous film of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol polymer on the primary preform, mounting the coated pre-form on an injection mold, and injection the polyester onto the coated layer to form the inside or outside surface layer of the polyester. This process enables the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer to be interposed as the interlayer of the stretched polyester bottle in a thickness which does not hamper the stretching operation but is sufficient to ensure its gas-barrier property.

The injection molding stage is expanded to include the stopping positions of two adjacent neck molds. In the injection molding stage, an inner parison and an outer parison are separately formed; and in the later stages they are stretched and blow molded to form a duplex hollow molded article.
