Abstract:
A pressing roller (10) for the processing of web paper material, in particular of the type used in cooperation with an engraving roller (G1) for the bonding of two or more embossed plies of web paper material, comprises a cylindrical pressure surface (11) defined by a plurality of annular resilient pressure bodies (15) of rubber material that have a high surface hardness which allows to avoid the effect of “double embossing” and at the same time have a high elastic yielding which allows to obtain adequate nip also with relatively low contact pressures.
Abstract:
A non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films comprises thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and differing functional benefits. In particular, one or more embodiments comprise thermoplastic films that are co-extruded separately and then combined together by a post-extrusion bonding process. The differing composition of the various films of the non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films and the post-extrusion bonding process, provide the structures with the functional benefits of the individual films.
Abstract:
Multi-layer bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge. The first and second layers may be non-continuously laminated together to include bonded regions in which the layers are bonded and unbonded regions in which the layers are not bonded. Such a bag may be described as a “bag-in-a-bag” type configuration in which the inner bag is non-continuously bonded to the outer bag. The inventors have surprisingly found that such configurations of non-continuous bonding provides increased and unexpected strength properties to the multi-layer films and bags.
Abstract:
A cylinder system for tissue paper lamination comprising an embossing cylinder (22), which includes a combined DESL (1) and Point to Point (2) embossing, and for this purpose, higher elements (23) are provided for DESL process, and lower elements (24) for Point to Point process, such elements forming several relieves on paper surface and can compose figures, ribbing and all sorts of drawings.
Abstract:
The device for joining at least two plies of paper, in particular tissue paper, including a ply-bonding unit and moistening means to moisten at least one of the two plies before joining.
Abstract:
The device for joining at least two plies of paper (V1, V2), in particular tissue paper, comprises a ply-bonding unit (9) and moistening means (11) to moisten at least one of said two plies before joining.
Abstract:
An embossing roll for producing fibrous products, has a structurized embossing surface suitable to run against an anvil roll. The structurized embossing surface includes male protrusions or female depressions starting from a base circumferential surface of the roll. The embossing pattern is characterized by the following features: the base areas of selected male protrusions or female depressions in the base circumferential surface are different; the heights or depths of selected male protrusions or selected female depressions in a radial direction of the roll and starting from the base circumferential surface are different; and the angles between sidewall sections and the adjacent base circumferential surface of selected male protrusions and/or female depressions are different.
Abstract:
An embossed sheet is composed of at least a first and a second ply of creped tissue having a basis weight between 12 and 30 g/m2 according to which the first ply has a first embossed pattern composed of a series of first aligned protrusions of frustoconical overall shape, the tops of which are oriented towards the inside of the sheet, and the second ply has a first and a second series of protrusions, the tops of which are oriented towards the inside of the sheet, the second series having a height greater than that of the first series of protrusions. The protrusions of the first ply and the highest protrusions of the second ply are nested inside one another, and the lowest protrusions of the second ply are arranged between the protrusions of the first ply so as to create empty spaces between the two plies and promote a rapid absorption of liquid.
Abstract:
A multi-ply tissue includes a first cellulosic embossed ply having an emboss pattern applied over a portion of its surface and a second cellulosic embossed ply of tissue. The first ply is contact laminated to the second ply so that the primary adhesion between the plies of tissue is the result of contact between cellulosic fibers. The first and second plies contact one another in contact areas, with the contact areas between the first and second plies defining compliant voids. The contact areas between the first ply and the second ply are elongated and/or rounded contact areas. A method of forming a multi-ply tissue involves conveying a base sheet through a nip between an impression roll and a pattern roll to produce an embossed base sheet having a back side possessing projections, applying adhesive to the back side of the embossed base sheet at spaced apart locations, and applying a flat backing sheet to the back side of the embossed base sheet so that the backing sheet adheres to the back side of the embossed base sheet at said spaced apart locations. A method of producing an embossed tissue involves successively conveying a base sheet through a nip between a first impression roll and a pattern roll, and conveying the base sheet through another nip between the pattern roll and a second impression roll, wherein the second impression roll is made of rubber having a lower hardness than the rubber from which the first impression roll is made.
Abstract:
A device for producing a multi-ply fibrous product includes an embossing roll with first and second embossing protrusions on its outer circumferential surface having at least two different heights in a radial direction, an anvil roll cooperating with the embossing roll, an application roll for applying colored adhesive or ink arranged next to the embossing roll, and a marrying roll or another embossing roll running against the embossing roll, wherein the application roll forms a negative gap with the outer diameter of the embossing roll, and the negative gap exceeds the difference in height of the first and second protrusions. A method for producing a multi-ply fibrous product and a multi-ply fibrous product are also described.
