    Abstract: The invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, specifically to low-speed electrical generators, and can be used in particular in wind energy installations. In the proposed electromagnetic generator the rotor is equipped with permanent magnets (3, 4) and the stator comprises two parallel plates (5, 6), between which annular windings (7) are arranged. The rotor is formed from two parallel discs (1, 2) fixed to a shaft (10), with circular rows of said permanent magnets arranged on each of said parallel discs on surfaces facing one another, the polarity of said permanent magnets in each row alternating, while the poles of the permanent magnets in one row are turned towards the opposite poles of the permanent magnets in the other row. The annular windings (7) of the stator are inserted in pairs one inside the other and are in the form of isosceles trapeziums, the lateral sides (8, 9) of which are arranged radially relative to the axis (10) of rotation of the rotor. Sections (11, 12) of the annular windings (7) in the bases of the trapeziums arch out convexly, wherein the distance l between the sections of annular windings in the bases of the trapeziums exceeds the width b of the circular row of permanent magnets (3, 4), which adjoin one another in each circular row. The permanent magnets adjoin one another in each circular row by the adjacent lateral planes thereof. The technical result consists in increasing the power of an electromagnetic generator whilst maintaining the overall dimensions thereof.

    Abstract: A synchronous generator is provided. The generator includes a rotor, which rotates around a machine axis and is concentrically surrounded by a stator with a stator winding. A plurality of permanent magnets and pole pieces are alternatingly arranged at the rim of the rotor with the permanent magnets being oriented in an essentially tangential direction. Torque and power characteristic of the generator are improved by alternating pole pieces and pairs of permanent magnets. The permanent magnets each have a rectangular cross section in the axial direction, the pole pieces each have a symmetric trapezoidal cross section in the axial direction with the symmetry plane of the trapezoid extending radially through the machine axis and the longer parallel side lying outside. The two permanent magnets of each pair of permanent magnets are separated from each other by an intermediate wedge, which corresponds with its cross section to the trapezoidal pole pieces.

    Abstract: An arrangement to ensure an air gap in an electrical machine is provided. The electrical machine has a stator arrangement and a rotor arrangement, the rotor arrangement rotating around a longitudinal axis. An air gap is defined by a distance between parts of the rotor arrangement and parts of the stator arrangement, wherein the parts of the stator arrangement are opposite to the parts of the rotor arrangement along a certain length. The stator arrangement includes a lamination stack which is constructed to support a winding of a stator-coil, and the rotor arrangement includes a plurality of permanent magnets. A cross section of the air gap changes along the certain length such that the air gap is not uniform in view to the certain length. The cross section of the air gap is configured by a change in a shape of the lamination stack along the certain length.

    Abstract: A speed/torque enhancing power transmission is disclosed that translates slow rotating, high torque motion to high rotation, low torque motion or alternatively high rotating low torque motion to low rotating high torque motion and is suitable as a speed increaser for use in a device like a wind turbine. As a speed increaser the transmission has certain advantages, such as reduced weight and/or size compared to other units having the same performance characteristics. The speed increaser employs a pair of externally toothed spur gears orbiting in a non-rotating manner 180° out of phase inside an internally toothed ring gear. The input drives the ring gear and the orbiting spur gears drive separate eccentrics on the output shaft extending in opposite directions to provide dual output. In one embodiment, cross guide projections on the spur gear and cross guide projections on the housing engage slots in a swash plate.
