Abstract: A method for checking a processing of payload data. The method includes processing the payload data and metadata by a sequence of data processing blocks. An adjustment value is ascertained for each data processing block as a function of a thereto-supplied payload data version so that, if the thereto-supplied metadata version is correctly processed by the data processing block to form a respective processing result, the processing result, after having been adjusted according to the adjustment value according to a specified adjustment rule, is equal to a value assigned to the data processing block. Each data processing block processes the metadata version supplied to it, and the next metadata version is derived from the supplied metadata version as a function of the processing result adjusted according to the adjustment value according to the specified adjustment rule, and checking whether the payload data have been processed correctly.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a performance-optimized server image. The method includes receiving logs that include performance information of one or more servers of a first type. Current values for performance parameters of the one or more servers are determined based on the logs. Optimal value ranges for the performance parameters are determined. In response to determining that, for at least one performance parameter, a current value is outside a respective optimal value range, incremental changes are determined. The incremental changes are applied to a latest version of a server image of the first type to create a new version of the server image. New values for the performance parameters are determined. In response to determining that, for each performance parameter, a new value is within a respective optimal value range, the new version of the server image is validated as a performance-optimized version of the server image.

Abstract: A network device may receive new network device software and may receive an option to wait a predetermined period of time for confirmation of installation of the new network device software. The network device may determine, based on the option, whether the confirmation of installation of the new network device software is received prior to expiration of the predetermined period of time. The network device may selectively perform an automatic rollback to previous network device software based on failing to receive the confirmation of installation of the new network device software prior to expiration of the predetermined period of time, or utilize the new network device software based on receiving the confirmation of installation of the new network device software prior to expiration of the predetermined period of time.

Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to solutions for improving a firmware update mechanism and in particular, for improving a firmware update mechanism of a power distribution board by utilizing different boot procedures. A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for receiving, at a microcontroller, a firmware update, wherein the firmware update is transmitted by a computer powered by a power distribution board associated with the microcontroller, initiating, by the microcontroller, a warm boot procedure using the firmware update, and marking the warm boot procedure as successful if a message received from the computer indicates that the firmware update is successful. In some aspects, the process can further include steps for determining a power reset of the computer, initiating, by the microcontroller, a cold boot procedure using the firmware update, and marking the firmware update as proven if the message from the computer indicates that the firmware update is successful. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: A system and method of performing a version control in a mesh network of nodes is disclosed. The method includes executing, by a processing device, a mesh version control life cycle service (VCLS) to maintain a manifest of a mesh network. The manifest comprises, for each node in the mesh network, a history of one or more services executing on a node and a service version for each service of the one or more services. The method includes performing a version control of the mesh network based on the manifest, comprising sending a message to a first node of the mesh network to instruct the first node to change a version of a service executing on the first node from a first version to a second version.
