摘要: This invention provides solid substrates for promoting cell or tissue growth or restored function, which solid substrate is characterized by a specific fluid uptake capacity value of at least 75%, which specific fluid uptake capacity value is determined by establishing a spontaneous fluid uptake value divided by a total fluid uptake value. This invention also provides solid substrates for promoting cell or tissue growth or restored function, which solid substrate is characterized by having a contact angle value of less than 60 degrees, when in contact with a fluid. This invention also provides solid substrates for promoting cell or tissue growth or restored function, which said substrate is characterized by a substantial surface roughness (Ra) as measured by scanning electron microscopy or atomic force microscopy. The invention also provides for processes for selection of an optimized coral-based solid substrate for promoting cell or tissue growth or restored function and applications of the same.

摘要: A composite medical textile such as a suture includes a plurality of bioresorbable hyaluronan-based fibers and a plurality of non-resorbable fibers. The hyaluronan-based fibers can include at least one of hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, or the esters of hyaluronic acid such as the benzyl esters. The non-resorbable fibers can be Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), and other materials. Methods of making a medical textile are also disclosed.

摘要: This invention includes malleable, biodegradable, fibrous compositions for application to a tissue site in order to promote or facilitate new tissue growth. One aspect of this invention is a fibrous component that provides unique mechanical and physical properties. The invention may be created by providing a vessel containing a slurry, said slurry comprising a plurality of natural or synthetic polymer fibers and at least one suspension fluid, wherein the polymer fibers are substantially evenly dispersed and randomly oriented throughout the volume of the suspension fluid; applying a force, e.g., centrifugal, to said vessel containing said slurry, whereupon said force serves to cause said polymer fibers to migrate through the suspension fluid and amass at a furthest extent of the vessel, forming a polymer material, with said polymer material comprising polymer fibers of sufficient length and sufficiently viscous, interlaced, or interlocked to retard dissociation of said polymer fibers.

摘要: A non-tubular material for nerve regeneration induction, which can be used for the regeneration of a damaged part in a nerve, and which comprises: (A) a crosslinked form produced by crosslinking a low-endotoxin bioabsorbable polysaccharide having a carboxyl group in the molecule with at least one crosslinkable reagent selected from a compound represented by general formula (I) and a salt thereof via covalent bonds; and (B) a bioabsorbable polymer. R1HN—(CH2)n—NHR2 (I) [wherein R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a group represented by formula: —COCH(NH2)—(CH2)4—NH2, and n represents an integer of 2 to 18]. Thus, a medical material that can induce the regeneration of a damaged part in a nerve is provided.

摘要: This invention provides preparations, compositions, products, and applications of photo-crosslinked hydrogels. Component A—a photosensitive polymer derivative, component B—the photoinitiator, and auxiliary component C—other biocompatible polymer derivative each are respectively dissolved in a biocompatible medium to obtain solution A, solution B, and solution C. The solution A, the solution B, and the optional solution C are mixed homogenously to obtain a hydrogel precursor solution. The hydrogel precursor solution is subject to irradiation of the UV light for photocoupled crosslinking to form a photo-crosslinked hydrogel. The photo-crosslinked hydrogel exhibit rapid speed of photo-curing, strong tissue adhesion, excellent mechanical properties, good biocompatibility, and excellent clinical operability. In addition, this invention also provides a kit for making the photo-crosslinked hydrogel, and applications thereof in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, 3D printing, and as a carrier of cell, protein, or drug.

摘要: The present invention relates to a dermal layer which is for grafting and has an improved graft survival rate, and a method for producing the same, wherein the dermal layer for grafting can be produced by filling a filling solution, including a DNA fragment mixture and chitosan, into an acellular dermal matrix from which cells have been removed. It was observed that the dermal layer for grafting produced in this manner, due to the filling solution filled therein and including a DNA fragment mixture and chitosan, increases the rate at which cells flow in from the tissue surrounding the graft and are fixed, and thereby alleviates an initial inflammatory reaction and promotes blending with the surrounding tissue.
