Abstract:
There is provided a method of monitoring access to a set of mobile communication networks, the method comprising: placing a testing device within the coverage area of a plurality of mobile communication networks, the plurality of mobile communication networks forming a set of mobile communication networks, the testing device comprising a network authentication device for a mobile communication network not in the set of mobile communication networks; initiating a succession of network registration procedures from the testing device; and storing, in the testing device, the identity of the mobile communication network that the testing device registers with as a result of each network registration procedure.
Abstract:
Inhalation device and associated method for facilitating inhalation by a patient of powder medicaments contained in a receptacle. The inhalation device has a chamber for receiving the receptacle. A ring is circumferentially coupled to an inner surface of the chamber to achieve a higher reproducible emitted dose of medicament from the receptacle. The inhalation device also includes an improved implement for puncturing the receptacle, requiring less force and experiencing fewer failures. The inhalation device also includes a means for indicating readiness.
Abstract:
A power transmission arrangement comprises a first power transmission member connectable to a first main shaft of an engine. The arrangement also includes a second power transmission member connectable to a second main shaft of the engine and to a third power transmission member. A coupling assembly is provided which has a selectable coupling condition to couple the first power transmission member to the second power transmission member to allow power to be transmitted from the third power transmission member to the first main shaft of the engine via the first power transmission member. The coupling assembly has a decoupling condition to decouple the first power transmission member from the second power transmission member to allow power to be transmitted from the main shaft of the engine to the third power transmission member via the second power transmission member.
Abstract:
An apparatus for conducting heat from a computer component to a heat sink. The invention may include a thermal interface material (TIM). The invention may further include a seal or gasket that at least partially encloses the TIM. The gasket may facilitate retaining the TIM within its sidewall, and thus in place on or near a computer component. Generally, the gasket may be placed between the computer component (or a silicon board or other material upon which the computer component is located) and a heat sink. An insert may be placed within the gasket and define an aperture. The chip seats in the aperture and thus is spatially located with respect to the insert. The TIM abuts both the computer component and a heat sink. A desiccant may be located within the gasket and absorb any moisture diffusing or migrating through the gasket.
Abstract:
A tool and method for developing video games is provided. The method includes selecting images for use in the video game, and selecting activities related to the video game. The activities each have a type and at least some of the activities are related to the images. The method includes storing data associated with the activities, and executing an engine that reads the data associated with the activities and uses the images to play the video game.
Abstract:
A method for multiplayer gaming on mobile handsets is provided. The method includes a first user entering inputs via a keypad of a first mobile device to play a first game. The method includes communicating the first user's keypad inputs on the first mobile device to a second mobile device. The method includes a second user entering inputs via a keypad of the second mobile device to play a second game. The first and second games being substantially the same games provided on separate mobile devices. The method includes communicating the second user's keypad inputs on the second mobile device to the first mobile device, the first game using the keypad inputs from the second mobile device and the second game using the keypad inputs from the first mobile device to enable multiplayer gaming between the first and second games.
Abstract:
The invention generally relates to a method for pulmonary delivery of therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic agents to a patient wherein the agent is released in a sustained fashion, and to particles suitable for use in the method. In particular, the invention relates to a method for the pulmonary delivery of a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent comprising administering to the respiratory tract of a patient in need of treatment, prophylaxis or diagnosis an effective amount of particles comprising a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent or any combination thereof in association with a charged lipid, wherein the charged lipid has an overall net charge which is opposite to that of the agent upon association with the agent. Release of the agent from the administered particles occurs in a sustained fashion.
Abstract:
A method for labeling fabrics, such as fabric garments, and a heat-transfer label (311) well-suited for use in said method. In one embodiment, the heat-transfer label (311) comprises (i) a support portion (313), the support portion (313) comprising a carrier (315) and a release layer (317); (ii) a wax layer (319), the wax layer overcoating the release layer (317); and (iii) a transfer portion (321), the transfer portion (321) comprising an adhesive layer (323) printed directly onto the wax layer (319) and an ink design layer (325) printed directly onto the adhesive layer (323). Each of the adhesive layer (323) and the ink design layer includes a non-cross-linked PVC resin. The ink design layer may be screen printed onto the adhesive layer (323) or may be printed onto the adhesive layer (323) using thermal transfer printing, ink jet printing or laser printing.
