摘要： For slow motion playback operation with a digital video magnetic tape recording and reproducing equipment an intermediate memory system has four picture field memories of which there are always three available for writing into but only one of them at a time is in read-out operation. In a first reading operation of a particular picture field memory an AND correlation of a write flag and an error flag is necessary for providing an error recognition signal to following circuits and before a reading goes to the next address the write flag is erased by writing in a logic zero, but the correlated signal is used to rewrite the error flag in the error flag memory. In subsequent readings any error flag is transmitted and rewritten, but all write flags remain erased to signify that the memory has been read out at least once.

摘要： A magnetron sputtering cathode for vacuum coating apparatus has a circular target plate and at least one magnet system disposed in back of it which forms at least one endless tunnel of magnetic lines of force over the target plate. In the marginal area of the target plate there is disposed a first magnet system for the production of a first magnetic tunnel substantially concentric with the axis of rotation, and between the axis of rotation and the first magnet system there is an off-center second magnet system which produces a second magnetic tunnel extending over only a sector of the target plate. When the two magnet systems are rotated together the elements of the surface of the target plate are exposed to the product of the time of stay times the intensity such that the target plate is ablated more uniformly in the middle area and more strongly at the margin, so that a substrate field placed opposite the target plate is uniformly coated.

摘要： The leaders of successive topmost sheets of a stack of sheets are lifted by a set of aligned suction cups which move each leader into a horizontal plane including the nip of two advancing rolls. The suction cups insert the leading edge of each leader into the nip and continue to adhere to the leader while the latter is advanced by the rolls so that the leader pulls the suction cups against the opposition of a weak spring tending to move the suction cups and their mobile support to a starting position. The drive for the advancing rolls is thereupon arrested for an interval of time which suffices to ensure the collapse of suction in the cups by arresting the suction pump and by simultaneously opening a valve which connects the interior of each cup with the atmosphere.
