Abstract: A support mechanism for a medical device may include an adjustable support that includes a plurality of elongate members movable relative to one another. The support mechanism may also include a bracket coupled to the adjustable support. The bracket may be adapted to be coupled to a first medical device that extends along a longitudinal axis. The support mechanism may also include an instrument holder that extends along a central axis. The instrument holder may be movably coupled to the bracket and adapted to be coupled to a second medical device. The bracket and the instrument holder may be oriented such that central axis of the instrument holder intersects the longitudinal axis at an angle.

Abstract: A device for passing a needle and suture longitudinally through a target tissue includes a proximal jaw including a proximal recess and a proximal retention mechanism for releasably engaging a first end of a needle received within the proximal recess and a distal jaw movably coupled to the proximal jaw such that the proximal and distal jaws are longitudinally movable relative to one another. The distal jaw includes a distal recess and a distal retention mechanism for releasably engaging a second end of the needle received within the distal recess. The proximal and distal jaws are movable between a first state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration, and a second state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration.

Abstract: A device for treating a tissue opening includes a proximal portion including an elongated flexible member, a capsule releasably coupled to a distal end of the flexible member and including a lumen extending therethrough and a clip including a pair of arms movably housed within the capsule. A suture extending along a first one of the pair of arms and including a loop at a distal end thereof extending across an opening extending through the first one of the pair of arms. A suture grabbing element extending laterally from a second one of the pair of arms and including a hook so that, when the pair of arms are moved toward a closed configuration, the hook extends through the opening to grab the loop and draw the distal end of the suture from the first one of the pair of arms toward the second one of the pair of arms.

Abstract: A device for treating a tissue opening includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lumen extending therethrough; a pair of arms movably housed within the lumen of the capsule such that the pair of arms are movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, the pair of arms being biased toward the open configuration such that when the pair of arms are moved distally with respect to the capsule, distal ends of the pair of arms are separated from one another to receive target tissue therebetween; a needle releasably connected to a first one of the pair of arms, the needle extending laterally inward toward a second one of the pair of arms and including a connecting structure extending along a portion thereof, the second one of the pair of arms including an opening located so that, when the pair of arms are moved to the closed configuration, the connecting structure of the needle engages the opening; and a suture extending from a portion of the needle proximally through the capsule.

Abstract: A system may include an introducer sheath including a retention member configured to anchor the introducer sheath in a natural body lumen having a wall. The system may also have an elongate member extending along a longitudinal axis through a working channel of the introducer sheath. Additionally, the system may have a manipulating portion coupled to a distal end of the elongate member. The manipulating portion may include at least one selectively actuatable member configured to transition between an undeployed configuration and a deployed configuration. In the undeployed configuration, the at least one actuatable member may extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and in at least one position in the deployed configuration, the at least one actuatable member may extend radially outwardly from the longitudinal axis. In the deployed configuration, the manipulating portion and elongate member may be configured to be proximally retracted toward the working channel of the introducer sheath so as to move a distal portion of the wall towards a proximal portion of the wall.

Abstract: A medical device and a method for manipulating a tissue. The medical device includes two or more bars, a snare loop and a constricting element. Each bar includes a proximal end, and one or more distal ends, such that the bars are in close proximity at the proximal end. The snare loop maybe coupled to the distal ends of the bars. The constricting element maybe movably coupled to the bars, such that the constricting element expands the snare loop when positioned at the proximal end of the plurality of bars while the constricting element collapses the snare loop when positioned at the distal end of the plurality of bars, thus, keeping the distal end of the snare loop stationary with respect to the tissue.

Abstract: A tissue resection cap assembly configured to be secured to the distal end of an elongated medical device, such as an endoscope, and a method for resecting tissue. The cap assembly may include a cap structure comprising a working channel and a resection device channel, wherein the resection device channel extends inside the cap structure to a resection device track positioned substantially around the working channel adjacent the distal end of the cap structure. The resection device channel is adapted to direct a resection device from the working channel of the endoscope to the resection device track. The cap assembly further includes one or more ligation bands on the outside surface of the cap structure and a trigger line for deploying the ligation bands from the distal end of the cap structure. The method includes deploying a ligation band around tissue and using a resecting loop to cut the tissue.

Abstract: A tissue resection cap assembly configured to be secured to the distal end of an elongated medical device, such as an endoscope, and a method for resecting tissue. The cap assembly may include a cap structure comprising a working channel and a resection device channel, wherein the resection device channel extends inside the cap structure to a resection device track positioned substantially around the working channel adjacent the distal end of the cap structure. The resection device channel is adapted to direct a resection device from the working channel of the endoscope to the resection device track. The cap assembly further includes one or more ligation bands on the outside surface of the cap structure and a trigger line for deploying the ligation bands from the distal end of the cap structure. The method includes deploying a ligation band around tissue and using a resecting loop to cut the tissue.
