摘要: This invention automatically extracts key words (phrases) from a stack of electronic documents and apply them to classify, aggregate, and summarize the contents of the documents. It not only provides compressed information for its users to quickly find out popular themes in the document, but also screens out non-critical information such sentiments and false claiming so that its users can focus on the critical information. The ability to compare positive and negative information side-by-side provides further convenience.

摘要: Managing data in a storage system having a plurality of classes of storage includes determining an amount of data to be provided on at least one of the classes of storage according to a policy, dynamically setting a threshold according to the amount of data to be provided on the at least one of the classes or an expected performance based on the threshold, and placing data on particular classes of storage based on the threshold. Dynamically setting a threshold may include sorting data portions according to at least one score thereof and may include determining a particular score corresponding to the amount of data to be provided. The data portions may be provided in a histogram having a horizontal scale corresponding to a score value and a vertical scale corresponding to a number of data portions having a particular value.

摘要: The present invention provides a switching method of the different display windows of a TV. Before the switching, the TV displays the TV programs, received from the broadcast system and a server, in a main window and a sub-display window respectively, and the switching method includes the following steps that: the TV and the server determine the channel identifiers of the TV programs displayed by each other; the TV displays the TV programs, received from the broadcast system and the server, with the channel identifiers of each other using the first display window and the second display window respectively. By the present invention, the sources of the contents displayed respectively in the first display window and second display window do not change, thereby maintaining the respective display quality (including resolution and picture size) of the two display windows unchangeable before and after the switching.

摘要: A method for maintaining the connection between a terminal and a network server is described. The terminal has a first processing unit with a first state and a second state, wherein the power consumption of the second state is less than the power consumption of the first state. When the first processing unit is in the second state, the terminal or the network server sends heartbeat data packets periodically in order to maintain the connection between said terminal and said network server. During the period that the terminal or the network server sends a periodic heartbeat data packet, a main processor of the terminal will not be woken up Thus, the terminal in a sleep state can maintain connection with the network server, and not be woken up due to the heartbeat data packets sent by the network server, which reduces the power consumption of the terminal.

摘要: Methods and systems for conditioning wireline communications to remove intersymbol interference are provided that used adaptive equalization. The method and systems include using a digital finite state machine to control two feedback loops that adjust the gain and power of the input signal relative to a supplied reference. The eye height of the input signal is conditioned by a gain feedback loop so that signal equalization can be performed in a known state. The digital finite state machine allows the loops to be flexibly run in sequence or concurrently. The adaptation functions can be shut off when adequate signal equalization has been achieve, thus saving power.

摘要: A wall-mountable apparatus enables a user to scrub the user's back hands-free. The apparatus includes two primary features, namely, a slider plate and a back-engaging assembly. The slider plate includes laterally opposed plate-to-assembly engaging structures. The back-engaging assembly includes a plate-engaging interface structure, a bezel structure and a liquid material delivery assembly. The plate-engaging interface structure includes laterally-opposed plate-engaging structures. The laterally-opposed plate-engaging structures cooperate with the plate-to-assembly engaging structures for attaching the back-engaging assembly to the slider plate. The bezel structure includes a hemi-ovoidal outer surface, and an assembly-receiving inner surface. The liquid delivery apparatus is received adjacent the assembly-receiving surface and includes a liquid receptacle and liquid delivery elements. The delivery elements are in communication with the bezel structure for outletting liquid from the liquid receptacle to the outer surface. The back-engaging assembly is vertically adjustable relative to the wall-mountable slider plate.

At least one portion of data is selected for movement from one of the first device and the second device to another of the first device and the second device. A second cost metric is determined for the first device and the second device based on moving said at least one portion of data between said first device and said second device. It is determined using the first cost metric and the second cost metric whether to move the at least one portion of data.
