摘要: A vehicular headlamp having a reflector with the capability for controlling the luminous intensity distribution so as to attain a balance between the spread of light in luminous intensity distribution in the horizontal direction and the brightness required in the central part of the distribution. The reflecting surface of the reflector is divided into a plurality of regions in accordance with the necessary action of controlling the luminous intensity distribution. Some of these regions are each formed as an assembly of hyperbolic paraboloidal reflecting elements that form a luminous intensity distribution pattern that is broadly diffused in the horizontal direction, others of the reflecting regions are each formed as an assembly of elliptic paraboloidal reflecting elements that chiefly contribute to the formation of the central area of the luminous intensity distribution pattern, while still another reflecting region is formed as an assembly of bilobate hyperboloidal reflecting elements and, depending on the position of the selected light source (high or low beam) the latter region contributes to the formation of the central area of the luminous intensity distribution pattern of the high beam while contributing to the formation of a cut line that is characteristic of the low beam and that is inclined to the horizontal line of the luminous intensity distribution pattern of the low beam.

摘要: A semiconductor device is provided wherein a current mirror circuit controlled by a pulse input voltage is utilized and a load is driven in such a manner that the output current of the current mirror circuit becomes a substantially constant current. Further, the output voltage of the current mirror circuit can be compared with a predetermined reference voltage by a comparator, with the current mirror circuit being controlled by the output voltage of the comparator in accordance with the result of comparison. The driver circuit can be used for driving the data lines of a dynamic random access memory or an external capacitance load. With these techniques, power consumption and peak current are reduced.

摘要: A stepper motor is coupled via a motion translating mechanism to a transducer for transporting the latter across parallel tracks on a magnetic tape. The transducer has an abutment secured thereto. Rotatable about an axis parallel to the direction of transducer movement relative to the magnetic tape, a rotary stop member is geared to the stepper motor thereby to be driven in synchronism with the linear travel of the transducer. The rotary stop member has a stop arm protruding therefrom for engaging the abutment on the transducer when the latter moves to a limit position on one side of the tracks on the magnetic tape, thereby locking the stepper motor against rotation in one direction via the gearing. Preferably, the stop member has another stop arm engageable with the abutment when the transducer reaches another limit position on the other side of the tape tracks, with the consequent locking of the stepper motor against rotation in the other direction. An electronic control circuit can be incorporated with the head positioning mechanism for automatically initializing the position of the transducer on a home track on the magnetic tape.

摘要: Apparatus for calculating the distance between two patterns, each given in the form of time sequences of vectors, by using the distance between a feature vector of one pattern and a line segment connecting two feature vectors of the other pattern. The apparatus calculates the distance D representing the length of the line segment between two adjacent vectors a.sub.i+l and a.sub.i of a first time sequence of vectors, A. It also calculates the distance X and Y representing, respectively, the distance between the vector a.sub.i+l and a vector b.sub.j, and the distance between the vectors a.sub.i and b.sub.j, where the vector b.sub.j is a vector of the second time sequence of vectors, B. Processing units generate a distance signal Z representing the perpendicular distance from the vector b.sub.j to the line segment connecting adjacent vectors a.sub.i+l and a.sub.i. Comparing the absolute value of the difference between the distance X and Y to the length of the line segment D determines a selection signal which selects one of the distances X, Y or Z as the most correct distance between the two patterns.
