摘要: Disclosed is a display apparatus comprising an active matrix display section including a plurality of signal lines and scan lines, arranged in a matrix on a substrate, and a plurality of pixels and active elements arranged at intersections of the signal and scan lines, a scan line driving circuit for driving the scan lines and a signal line driving circuit for driving the signal lines. The display section has a non-rectangular shape. The active elements that make up the scan line driving circuit and/or the signal line driving circuit are formed by the same manufacturing process as that for forming the active elements in the active matrix display section. The scan line driving circuit and/or the signal line driving circuit are each a set of circuit units having the same function. These circuit units are arranged to conform to and extend around the outer circumference of the non-rectangular display section.

摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display (LCD) which is an active-matrix addressing LCD prepared by a drop filling and substrate assembling method, prevents an occurrence of a drop mark, and has superior residual image characteristics. The residual image characteristics are improved by adding an acidic compound (for instance, phenol derivative 412) into a liquid crystal composition to adjust a dielectric constant. The occurrence of the drop mark is prevented by adding a compound (for instance, alkoxy compound 413) which can form a hydrogen bond with the acidic compound into the liquid crystal composition so as to prevent the acidic compound from forming the hydrogen bond with water 409 when the LC composition has been dropped on a substrate. In a progressive mode, the content of the phenol compound is 0.00010 N or more, and the content of the alkoxy compound is 0.265 mol/L or less and is 10 equivalents or more with respect to the phenol compound. In an interlace mode, the content of the phenol compound is 0.00100 N or more, and the content of the alkoxy compound is 1.324 mol/L or less and is 150 equivalents or more with respect to the phenol compound.

摘要: An method of forming buried wiring lines makes it possible not to limit usable materials for an insulative plate to those having excellent heat resistance and to improve the corrosion resistance of the terminals provided for the buried wiring lines. The surface of an insulative plate is selectively etched using a mask formed on the surface, thereby forming grooves in the surface. A metallic nanoparticle ink is placed over the whole surface of the plate to fill the grooves with the ink, where the mask is being left. The ink is heated for preliminary curing to form a metallic nanoparticle ink film. The part of the film placed on the mask is selectively removed by detaching the mask, thereby leaving the remainder of the film in the grooves. The remaining film in the grooves is heated for main curing, thereby forming desired buried wiring lines.

摘要: An active matrix type liquid crystal display device in the lateral electric field system is disclosed, in which a high aperture factor is ensured even in a narrow pitch case, while also ensuring high contract and reduced vertical stroke is disclosed. In a liquid crystal display device, in which substantially bank-like third insulating film 208 is formed a video signal line 204 and covered by a common electrode 210, a light shield electrode 213 is formed underneath an extension of a common electrode 210 from an edge of a video signal line 204. With this arrangement, a liquid crystal display device is realized, which shields light from the sides of a step part as well as ensuring high aperture factor and high contrast.

摘要: An auxiliary plate (10) is fixed to a rear plane of a housing for fixedly holding a lamp unit (6) having a plurality of lamps. In the auxiliary plate (10), a convex portion and a concave portion are combined. The convex portion has a space between the housing and itself, which is formed by protruding a sheet metal, and the concave portion contacts with the housing by denting the sheet metal. In the auxiliary plate 10, an area for mounting a board vulnerable to heat is formed with the convex portion and an air layer performs as heat insulation. The convex and concave portions are arrayed in a direction where heated air easily flows in another area. Thus, rigidity can be remarkably increased compared to a flat-shaped sheet metal, and heat generated by a backlight is effectively dissipated, as well as a temperature rise and an occurrence of a temperature gradient are suppressed.

摘要: A housing for holding and fixing components of a liquid crystal display device is composed of a pair of frame members each having the same shape. Four sides of the side face of each frame member are formed such that an outer face section positioned at the outer side when combined and an inner face section positioned at the inner side when combined are stepped to each other, and a cut section is formed between the outer face section and the inner face section. The side face section of the frame member of the housing is formed to be stepped as described above, so that the strength and assembling property are enhanced, thereby being capable of preventing deterioration in display quality caused by the displacement of the position and space of the components.

摘要: A sealing member is formed on a glass substrate, and dropping points are arranged in the form of a matrix in the region surrounded by the sealing member. The dropping points arranged in the outermost columns and the second outermost columns are connected respectively to imagine first straight lines and second straight lines. Third straight lines are imagined to be equidistant from the first straight lines and the second straight lines. The positions of the dropping points are determined in such a manner that the density of the dropping points in four edge divided regions can be 0.9 to 1.1 times the density of the dropping points in the region as a whole, and the density of the dropping points in four corner divided regions can be 0.83 to 1.17 times the density of the dropping points in the region as a whole.
