Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to a local, paperless document sharing, editing, and marking system which allows users connected to a local network to share, view, edit, mark, and save documents without needing to download them from an internet-based cloud server. A router is used to create a secure, local network to which all participants connect. A user selects documents from a drive connected to the router and shares those documents with other attendees, allowing the attendees to edit, save, and share the documents, mark the documents as exhibits to a legal proceeding, save the documents to a drive, and/or email the documents.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to instant messaging and persistent chats and provide a method, system and computer program product for controlling active and passive participation among participants in a thread of conversation in an instant messaging session or persistent chat. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for controlling active and passive participation among participants in a thread of conversation can be provided. The method can include creating a thread of conversation in a messaging system, adding participants to the thread, classifying the participants as one of either active or passive, and permitting only those participants classified as active participants to post to the thread while providing merely a view of the thread to the passive participants.
Abstract:
Systems, servers, methods, media, and programs for managing meeting ratings in a distributed system are provided. A feedback application generates a calendar invitation for a meeting to a meeting leader and meeting attendees, hosts the meeting, provides a request for feedback to the meeting attendees, generates a summary of the feedback or a recommendation for the meeting leader based on the feedback and provides the meeting leader with the summary of the feedback or the recommendation. The feedback application can also determine that the meeting leader is eligible for a reward.
Abstract:
Meeting participants of a videoconference can be enabled to alert the other meeting participants that they are going to be away from or inattentive during a portion of the videoconference. For example, each meeting participant can be presented with a user interface element, such as a button, that the meeting participant can select to alert the other meeting participants that the meeting participant will be away or inattentive during a portion of the videoconference. The meeting participants can also be enabled to alert an away meeting participant to rejoin the videoconference. For example, meeting participants can be presented with a user interface element, such as a button, that can be selected to send an alert to an away meeting participant to rejoin the teleconference. A meeting participant can also select to be alerted when a specified alert trigger occurs, such as when a specified word or phrase is used.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for providing a conference call service in a portable terminal are provided. The apparatus includes a communication unit for sending and receiving an IDentifier (ID) of a participant to take part in a conference call, schedule information of the participant, and conference call reservation information by communicating with a conference server, a display unit for outputting the ID, the schedule information, and the conference call reservation information, an input unit for generating input data for selecting the ID, and response data of a conference call connection request, a reservation information generator for identifying a participant to take part in the conference call by detecting the input data for the ID, sending participant information to the conference server, and generating the conference call reservation information including an available conference call schedule by receiving the participant schedule information from the conference server.
Abstract:
A cloud-based video/audio conferencing system and method performs locale based aggregation of a full duplex media stream to organize multiple connections to a conference call that originate from the same physical location or a shared locale. The cloud-based video/audio conferencing system performs synchronization of the microphone and speaker audio signals of the same-locale connections. In this manner, a conference call may be held with multiple user devices making connections from the same physical location. User experience is enhanced by allowing each user in the same location to use his/her own individual devices to connect to the same conference call
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for providing multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) on carriers of a new carrier type (NCT) are described herein. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a message to indicate an interest in receiving MBMS transmissions on a target cell that operates on a first carrier of a first carrier type on which cell-specific reference signals (CRSs) are suppressed at one or more downlink subframes of a downlink frame. The UE may receive, in response to transmitting the message, identification information of a notification cell on which to receive MBMS control information change notification for the target cell. The UE may receive MBMS traffic from the target cell using the MBMS control information received from the notification cell. The UE may receive the MBMS control information on a second carrier of a second carrier type different from the first carrier type.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for improving quality of a call over network (CON) are provided. Call quality may be improved via pathway testing to determine data path quality. This may be utilized to inform buffering lengths, and also may be utilized to choose the data pathway utilized for transmitting the data. Pathway testing may employ collecting microphone data on one device, transmitting it across the various pathways, and then comparing the quality at the endpoint compared to the initial data.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present disclosure provides a self-optimizing network (SON) coordination module that includes a conflict detection module configured to receive operational information from at least one capacity and coverage optimization (CCO) module and at least one of an energy savings management (ESM) and/or a cell outage compensation (COC) module, wherein the at least one CCO module and the at least one of the ESM module and/or the COC module are associated with at least one eNodeB (eNB) in communication with the conflict detection module. The conflict detection module is configured to determine a conflict between operational information of the CCO module and at least one of the ESM module and/or the COC module. The SON coordination module also includes a conflict resolution module configured to resolve a conflict between the operational information of the CCO module and at least one of the ESM module and/or the COC module based on, at least in part, one or more conflict resolution rules.
Abstract:
A method and system establishes a peer-to-peer (P2P) communication session between user equipments (UEs) under control of a network. A proximity services (ProSe) server associated with a first controlling network receives from a first UE a communication request message indicating that at least one other UE is in close proximity with the first UE. Based on the close proximity between the UEs, the server establishes a P2P group which includes the first UE and at least one other UE. In addition, the server identifies respective P2P Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for the UEs within the established P2P group. The server then instructs the UEs to communicate within the established P2P group using respective P2P IP addresses. Following receipt of a response indicating acceptance by a second UE of an instruction to communicate within the established P2P group using a corresponding P2P IP address, the server establishes the communication session.
