For a typical application, a plurality of such apparatuses may be arranged in series such that each unit is oriented at a right angle with regard to its adjacent unit.

    摘要: The structural steel rolling mill comprises a reversing two high rough rolling mill, at least one universal working rolling mill and at least one flanging edging rolling mill included in a reversing tandem rolling mill group, and a universal finishing rolling mill at the outlet end of the structural steel rolling mill. The reversing tandem group following the rough rolling mill has a universal working rolling mill, a flanging edging rolling mill and the universal finishing rolling mill. By including the universal finishing rolling mill in the reversing tandem rolling mill group the universal finishing rolling mill also participates in the reversing action and because of that is more effective in shaping than the standard finishing rolling mill so that in practice the special universal finishing rolling mill following the reversing tandem group is omitted as well as the edging rolling mill commonly provided with it and the roller bed located between them. The dimensional accuracy and the surface properties of the rolled product as well as the service life of the rolls of the universal finishing rolling mill are not impaired when the reduction of the universal finishing rolling mill is set smaller than that of the universal working rolling mill.

    摘要: A universal rolling stand has horizontally oriented rolls mounted in upper and lower roll mounts, as well as vertically oriented rolls mounted in roll mounts such that the respective axes of all rolls extend in a common plane. A biparted center frame in the stand has a plane of partitioning coinciding with the common plane. Tie rods releasably interconnect the two frame halves; slide structure on the frame halves permit therein separation in opposite directions upon release of the tie rods; and the upper and lower roll mounts are releasably mounted to the frame halves by means of additional tie rods. Upper and lower roll mounts are independently supportable upon release from the frame halves. The roll mounts can be placed on rails underneath.

    摘要: To reduce the width of slabs from a reheating furnace to the width required in a finishing rolling train, thereby making it possible to feed slabs of only one width, or only a few widths, into the reheating furnace, the invention proposes rolling the slab in a width-reducing roll train in which the slab is subjected to traction such that plastic deformation occurs between the roll sets. In particular the width-reducing roll train has only one set of thickness rolls and has one or more sets of width rolls, thereby minimizing the length of the roll train and consequently reducing the lengths at the ends of the slab which are not subjected to the traction.

    摘要: A continuous rolling mill has horizontal roll stands and vertical roll stands disposed alternatingly with rolling guides between the work rolls of adjacent roll stands. The roll stands together with the rolling guides are movable in the direction crossing the rolling line to an exchanging position where the work rolls and the rolling guides are exchanged with new ones. The continuous rolling mill further has a supporting frame supporting the roll stands and movable to the exchanging position thereby to bring the roll stands and rolling guides to the exchanging position, and an offsetting device adapted to move one of the adjacent roll stands relatively to the other of the adjacent roll stands and to the frame in the exchanging position such that the rolling lines of the adjacent roll stands may be offset from each other. This arrangement permits a reduction of the pitch or interval of the roll stands and affords a quick exchange of the rolls and rolling guides with new ones, contributing greatly to the reduction in installation space and cost while improving the efficiency of rate of operation of the rolling mill advantageously.

    摘要: A rolling method for producing a semi-finished metal section from a larger metal section of substantially rectangular crosssection and with which the width of two opposing, first sides exceeds the width of the remaining two, second sides. The metal section is reduced by reversable rolling without being turned around its long axis in several passes between two working rolls which are capable of being progressively urged towards said second sides of the metal section. The metal section is guided during the reduction process into and out of the roll nip and the original distance between said first sides of the metal section is maintained constant during the entire rolling sequence by means of two pairs of guide rolls arranged on either side of the working rolls, the guide rolls having smooth barrel surfaces and presenting a nip of constant width therebetween and having a diameter which is considerably smaller than that of the working roll.
