摘要: A system includes an introducer configured to be inserted through the puncture along a guidewire that extends through the puncture into the vessel. The introducer includes an introducer body, a proximal tapered tip, a distal tapered tip that is opposite to the proximal tapered tip along the central axis, and a bore that extends from the proximal tapered tip to the distal tapered tip along the central axis. The system includes an access sheath configured to be inserted over the introducer. The access sheath includes a front end, a rear end opposite to the front end, and a lumen that extends from the front end to the rear end. The proximal tapered tip of the introducer is configured to be inserted into the front end and through the lumen of access sheath, such that a movable interference fit is attained between the access sheath and the introducer.

摘要: Multifunctional device for MIS includes handle 200, a shaft 700, a multifunctional head assembly 300 and an articulation joint 800. The head assembly 300 includes a suturing unit 1100/1400 and an upper and a lower grasper unit 400 located in planes above and below the suturing unit. Each grasper unit 400n comprises a pair of graspers 402 configured to pivotally move in the plane of the grasper unit 400 about axis 414 to grasp tissues or a suturing thread, as well as to move pivotally perpendicular to the plane of the grasper unit 400 about axis 412 to pull the grasped suturing thread for knot tightening. Configuration of the head assembly 300 causes loose end portion of thread, when grasped by grasper unit 400, to be located within a circular zone of needle, which enables looping of needle side portion of thread around loose end portion.

摘要: A multi-portal method for treating a subject's spine includes distracting adjacent vertebrae using a distraction instrument positioned at a first entrance along the subject to enlarge an intervertebral space between the adjacent vertebrae. An interbody fusion implant can be delivered into the enlarged intervertebral space. The interbody fusion implant can be positioned directly between vertebral bodies of the adjacent vertebrae while endoscopically viewing the interbody fusion implant using an endoscopic instrument. The patient's spine can be visualized using endoscopic techniques to view, for example, the spine, tissue, instruments and implants before, during, and after implantation, or the like. The visualization can help a physician throughout the surgical procedure to improve patient outcome.

摘要: A hand held robotic system that remains stiff so long as it is operating within allowed limits, but which become actively controlled once the operator exceeds those limits. The system thus corrects deviations by more than a predetermined amount of the operator's hand motions, so that the tool remains in the allowed region even when the operator's hand deviates from the planned trajectory. The pose and path of the robotic operating head is ascertained by means of a navigation or tracking system, or by means of a proximity device to measure the closeness of the operating head to a damage sensitive feature. As the tool deviates from its predetermined path or pose, or comes too close to the hazardous area, the robot control acts to move the tool back to its predetermined pose or path, or away from the hazardous region, independently of user's hand movement.

摘要: A method for designing an implant includes designing a contour curvature of the implant so that an articulate surface of the implant is designed to correspond to a simulated healthy cartilage surface reconstructed from a 3D model based on one or more images taken with MRI or CT-scanning of a damaged cartilage surface of a joint; and providing a positioning mark on a surface of the implant. The positioning mark is provided such that the positioning mark is parted from the center of the implant to be visible for a surgeon and is adapted to be used for indicating a rotational position of the implant to the surgeon.
