摘要: An artificial neuron unit and neural network for processing of input light are described. The artificial neuron unit comprises a modal mixing unit, such as multimode optical fiber, configured for receiving input light and applying selected mixing to light components of two or more modes within the input light and for providing exit light, and a filtering unit configured for applying preselected filter onto said exit light for selecting one or more modes of the exit light thereby providing output light of the artificial neuron unit.

摘要: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for quantum communications and quantum information processing are provided. An example method includes determining a received state of a qubit received via a quantum communication link where the received state includes one or more properties of the received qubit. The method further accesses a transmitted state of the qubit where the transmitted state includes one or more properties of the qubit as transmitted. The method continues by comparing the one or more properties of the qubit in the received state with the one or more properties of the qubit in the transmitted state. Finally, the method detects a condition of the quantum communication link based on the comparison between the received state and the transmitted state. In doing so, the embodiments operate to characterize the noise level, security, etc. of a quantum communication interconnect, link, or channel.

摘要: A cathode for Li—S battery includes a current collector and a cathode composite layer disposed on the current collector. The cathode composite layer includes (i) a porous carbon layer, (ii) a first binder that is at least partially in contact with the porous carbon layer and (iii) elemental sulfur. A second binder is at least partially disposed between the current collector and the cathode composite layer. A Li—S battery also is contemplated, as are methods of fabricating the cathode and the battery.

摘要: A system for detecting light scattered from a tissue and for finding an IPL point for extracting oxygen saturation and pulse rate comprises: (a) at least one light source for illuminating a tissue, the at least one light source has a beam alignable to pass through the tissue; and (b) a plurality of photodetectors/cameras placed at multiple angles with respect to the tissue for collecting the light scattered from the tissue at multiple angles at the same time. The beam of the light source is centered either on a first axis parallel to the tissue and/or on a second axis with respect to the tissue, and the plurality of the photodetectors/cameras are either stationary or movable for conducting measurements at multiple angles for producing a first full scattering profile (FSP) and a second FSP applicable or finding the IPL point for extracting the oxygen saturation and the pulse rate.

摘要: Processes for creating a two-dimensional-target structure are disclosed. An example process to create a two-dimensional-target structure may include the process of providing two-dimensional material grown on an initial substrate to create a two-dimensional-substrate structure; applying the two-dimensional-substrate structure to a target substrate via an adhesion promoter to create a lamination stack; applying a lamination process to the lamination stack; and then removing the initial substrate from the lamination stack, post-lamination, to create the two-dimensional-target structure. The two-dimensional-target structure may then be used in such rigid or flexible electronic devices and/or non-standard devices as the target substrate may be rigid or flexible and/or translucent in contrast to the initial substrate first used to grow the two-dimensional material.
