摘要: Systems and methods may provide connectivity to client electronic devices in a wireless communication network aboard aircraft or in another environment. During initial client device association with the wireless network, captive browser use at the client device may be minimized by directing the device to a fully-capable browser. Upon association, subsequent captivity probes transmitted by the client device may be detected and handled so as to prevent undesired re-launching of the captive browser at the client device.

The systems and method integrate light fidelity (LiFi) communications with traditional vehicle radio frequency (RF) communications and/or wired communications systems. 摘要: Multimedia content may be delivered to content consumer devices via a content-delivery network. Encrypted content and cryptography keys for decrypting the content may be distributed from a data center to various nodes of the content-delivery network, each node acting as a semi-independent content-delivery system. Each content-delivery system is capable of delivering received content to end-users and implementing a key-management scheme to facilitate secure content-delivery and usage tracking, even when the content-delivery system is disconnected from the data center. In other words, the disclosed systems and methods facilitate the operation of nodes which may operate in “autonomous mode” when disconnected from a larger content-delivery network, thus maintaining content-delivery capabilities despite having little if any connectivity to external networks.

摘要: A dynamic satellite map updating system measures geographic position and travel information of in-flight aircraft in a fleet of aircraft equipped to establish in-flight connectivity services from a plurality of satellite beams. The in-flight aircraft include an on-board satellite map program with satellite map parameters to indicate which satellite beam of a group of available satellite beams is the most desirable based on the in-flight aircraft's geographic location. The system selects in-flight aircraft, determines updated satellite map parameters for the selected aircraft, and transmits the updated satellite map parameters to the aircraft to assemble new satellite map programs to relieve wireless data outage conditions on one or more of the satellite beams. The dynamic satellite updating system may transmit the updated satellite map parameters over an existing satellite data connection to make up-to-date adjustments to the communications load among the group of available satellite beams.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided to support hypernumber portability for a hypernumber number corresponding to an electronic device. The electronic device may include an installed application to facilitate hypernumber portability. To this end, when the electronic devices connects to a wireless network, the electronic device may request a vehicle identification. If the wireless network is a vehicle-based network, the electronic device may receive the vehicle identification from an on-board node. When the received vehicle identification indicates that the electronic device has changed locations, the electronic device may communicate with a hypernumber database and/or a hypernumber server to update a dynamic phonebook. As a result, as the electronic device traverses a transport network, the dynamic phonebook may maintain updated location and call routing information for the electronic device.

The target device may operate on the subsets of the data content as it receives each subset. Thus, time critical/foundational portions of the data content may be delivered using a faster forward link, larger elements of the data content may be delivered using a higher-bandwidth forward link, and/or portions of the data content requiring a higher degree of accuracy may be delivered using a more robust forward link, for example.

摘要: A real-time media stream, multicast by a remote computing system, is received by an on-board system of a vehicle. While being received, the real-time media stream is packaged into time-delineated media segments that are input to a buffer. One or more missing segments are identified after a signal loss event (e.g., a satellite handoff), and a request for the missing segment(s) is/are caused to be sent to the remote computing system. The missing segment(s) is/are received from the remote computing system via a unicast transmission, and inserted into the buffer in sequence with the time-delineated media segments. The buffered real-time media stream, including the inserted segment(s), is caused to be provided to one or more electronic devices on-board the vehicle. In this manner, the real-time media stream may be seamlessly delivered to the on-board electronic device(s) despite a loss of connectivity due to the signal loss event.

摘要: The Aircraft Mobile IP Address System provides wireless communication services to passengers who are located onboard an aircraft by storing data indicative of the individually identified wireless devices located onboard the aircraft. The System assigns a single IP address to each Point-to-Point Protocol link which connects the aircraft network to the ground-based communication network but also creates an IP subnet onboard the aircraft. The IP subnet utilizes a plurality of IP addresses for each Point-to-Point link thereby to enable each passenger wireless device to be uniquely identified with their own IP address. This is enabled since both Point-to-Point Protocol IPCP endpoints have pre-defined IP address pools and/or topology configured; each Point-to-Point Protocol endpoint can utilize a greater number of IP addresses than one per link. Such an approach does not change IPCP or other EVDO protocols/messaging but does allow this address to be directly visible to the ground-based communication network.

摘要: Embodiments are provided for communicating with electronic devices traveling on an aircraft. According to certain aspects, a data center can examine registration data to identify a set of electronic devices that are traveling on a particular flight, and can retrieve relevant travel information associated with the set of electronic devices. In particular, the travel information may be general to the flight or may be related to a specific itinerary for one of the passengers. The data center may generate one or more text messages that are intended for one of more of the set of electronic devices. The data center may also transmit the text message(s) to an on-board network for delivery to the electronic device(s).
