    摘要: Methods for manufacturing wipes including melamine entangled into a nonwoven, and associated articles of manufacture. Such a method may include providing a melamine sheet (e.g., contiguous, rather than discrete melamine particles), providing first and second nonwoven sheets, and positioning the melamine sheet between the first and second nonwoven sheets. The sandwich structure is hydroentangled at high pressure to force the melamine material to become entangled into the nonwoven material, to a degree that a portion of the melamine is actually exposed on the exterior face(s) of the wipe, which are generally provided by the nonwoven sheets. Such a wipe exhibits the drapability of a wipe, with the scrubbing benefits (e.g., very effective cleaning of baseboards, crayon off walls, etc.) of melamine, with greater durability than existing melamine cleaning articles, which tend to quickly crumble during use.

    摘要: Systems and methods for air sanitization. The system includes a device configured to create aerosolized droplets of an antimicrobial formulation with an average particle size sufficiently small so that the formulation provides at least a 3-log reduction against Staphylococcus aureus or another target microbe within 60 minutes. The antimicrobial formulation includes one or more organic acids (e.g., lactic acid) and optionally one or more diols (e.g., 1,2-hexanediol). Where both are included, the organic acid(s) and diol(s) may have a vapor pressure of at least 0.02 Pa. Where just the organic acid is included, the organic acid has a vapor pressure of at least 0.10 Pa. The formulation may further include a buffer, a surfactant, water, a fragrance, etc. The formulation may be delivered as an aerosol, using a pump sprayer, a mister, a nebulizer, a vaporizer, a cold fogger, a thermal fogger, an ultrasonic dispensing device, an electrostatic sprayer, etc.

    摘要: A pre-loaded cleaning substrate, and related systems and methods for picking up particles with an aspect ratio (L/D) greater than 300 (e.g., hair), or greater than 1200 (e.g., particularly long hairs). The substrate (e.g., a nonwoven) may include only a single layer of material. The pre-loaded substrate is loaded (e.g., during manufacture) with a cleaning composition. The fibers of the substrate may have an average diameter less than 15 μm, the substrate may have an air permeability of 35 ft3/min to 75 ft3/min, and the liquid cleaning composition may have a surface tension of less than about 50 dynes/cm. Together, the combination of the particular substrate and cleaning composition may facilitate markedly improved ability to pick up high L/D aspect ratio particle debris (e.g., such as hair), while retaining such particles (e.g., providing hair retention index values of at least 20).

    Systems and methods for spraying of sanitizing or disinfecting compositions with improved compatibility

    摘要: This invention relates to systems, methods, and disinfecting compositions for spraying onto surfaces to be sanitized or disinfected. Methods may include providing an aqueous hypohalite disinfecting composition, and providing a spraying system that may include a hand-held spray nozzle through which the composition is sprayed during use, and a pump and associated tubing for conveying the composition to the hand-held spray nozzle. The tubing may be specifically selected to exhibit at least a 65% recovery (no more than 35% loss) of hypohalite after 24 hours of contact between the composition and the tubing. The method may further include conveying the composition from the reservoir to the spray nozzle, and spraying the composition through the nozzle, e.g., onto the target surface. A related system may include similar components. A dilute hypohalite disinfecting composition may be provided for use with the system and/or method. The system may allow interchangeable use of a quaternary amine disinfecting composition.

    摘要: Pre-dosed wipes and packaged systems of such wipes including a nonwoven substrate formed from renewable natural plant-based fibers or derivatives of such fibers. The pre-dosed wipe as a whole meets applicable biodegradability/compostability standards (e.g., ASTM D6400, EN13432 or the like). The wipe may be a sanitizing or disinfecting wipe, including a quaternary ammonium compound as an antimicrobial agent in the composition with which the substrate is dosed. The composition may also include water and a surfactant. The wipe may be substantially void of thermoplastic fibers, such as PE, PP, PET, as well as so-called biodegradable polyesters and the like (e.g., PHA, PLA, PVOH). The nonwoven substrate may be formed by any of various techniques, an example of which is spunlace. The formulation may have a pH of at least 5 (e.g., 6 to 8), to maintain tensile strength of the natural plant-based substrate.
