摘要: The invention relates to compositions and methods of treatment employing compositions comprising polyelectrolyte complexes. The compositions include a water-soluble first polyelectrolyte bearing a net cationic charge or capable of developing a net cationic charge and a water-soluble second polyelectrolyte bearing a net anionic charge or capable of developing a net anionic charge. The total polyelectrolyte concentration of the first solution is at least 110 millimolar. The composition is free of coacervates, precipitates, latex particles, synthetic block copolymers, silicone copolymers, cross-linked poly(acrylic) and cross-linked water-soluble polyelectrolyte. The composition may be a concentrate, to be diluted prior to use to treat a surface.

摘要: Pre-dosed wipes and packaged systems of such wipes including a nonwoven substrate formed from renewable natural plant-based fibers or derivatives of such fibers. The pre-dosed wipe as a whole meets applicable biodegradability/compostability standards (e.g., ASTM D6400, EN13432 or the like). The wipe may be a sanitizing or disinfecting wipe, including a quaternary ammonium compound as an antimicrobial agent in the composition with which the substrate is dosed. The composition may also include water and a surfactant. The wipe may be substantially void of thermoplastic fibers, such as PE, PP, PET, as well as so-called biodegradable polyesters and the like (e.g., PHA, PLA, PVOH). The nonwoven substrate may be formed by any of various techniques, an example of which is spunlace. The formulation may have a pH of at least 5 (e.g., 6 to 8), to maintain tensile strength of the natural plant-based substrate.

摘要: A pre-loaded cleaning substrate, and related systems and methods for picking up particles with an aspect ratio (L/D) greater than 300 (e.g., hair), or greater than 1200 (e.g., particularly long hairs). The substrate (e.g., a nonwoven) may include only a single layer of material. The pre-loaded substrate is loaded (e.g., during manufacture) with a cleaning composition. The fibers of the substrate may have an average diameter less than 15 μm, the substrate may have an air permeability of 35 ft3/min to 75 ft3/min, and the liquid cleaning composition may have a surface tension of less than about 50 dynes/cm. Together, the combination of the particular substrate and cleaning composition may facilitate markedly improved ability to pick up high L/D aspect ratio particle debris (e.g., such as hair), while retaining such particles (e.g., providing hair retention index values of at least 20).

摘要: The present invention is directed to a cleaning composition for sanitizing or disinfecting hard surfaces containing a cationic biocide, surfactant and low levels of VOC solvents. The cleaning composition is adapted to clean a variety of hard surfaces without leaving behind a visible residue and creates low levels of streaking and filming on the treated surface. The cleaning composition contains less than 5% by weight of VOCs. The cleaning composition may be used alone as a liquid or spray formulation or in combination with a substrate, for example, a pre-loaded cleaning wipe.

摘要: Multi-layer substrates comprising a top surface layer of pulp fibers, a bottom surface layer of pulp fibers, and a melted thermoplastic material layer between the pulp fiber layers, where the thermoplastic material comprises polyethylene or has a tan delta value of 0.2 to 0.4 within the temperature range of 100° F. to 350° F. The multi-layer substrate can include a cleaning composition loaded onto the multi-layer substrate, where a fluid pathway through the melted thermoplastic material allows the cleaning composition to travel from the top surface layer to the bottom surface layer. The multi-layer substrate may be void of chemical adhesives, where adhesion between the top surface layer and the thermoplastic layer, and between the bottom surface layer and the thermoplastic layer is instead provided by the thermoplastic material itself, which bonds to groups of fibers in the pulp fibers top and bottom surface layers that are in contact with the thermoplastic material as it melts.

摘要: The present invention is for sanitizing compositions for sanitizing surfaces which may contact food. The composition may be provided in liquid form, and may include a quaternary amine, one or more surfactant, a fragrance, and water. At least 90% by weight of the fragrance comprises fragrance components that meet Class I qualifications of the Cramer classification system. All other components of the composition (e.g., the quaternary amine, the surfactants, water, and any optional components) meet the EPA guidelines under CFR 180.940(a). Since the composition only includes components that meet the EPA guidelines under CFR 180.940(a) (reflecting a presumption of low toxicity), and at least 90% of the fragrance itself (e.g., in the case of mixtures of fragrance components) meets the Cramer Class I qualifications, the composition is safe for application to surfaces that come in contact with food, where there is a heightened probability that traces of the composition will be ingested.

摘要: A self-contained system for grilling including a non-combustible tray, a mesh insert within the tray, defining an air-flow portion below the insert, and a fuel portion above the insert for supporting fuel (e.g., charcoal briquets), with the fuel suspended above the air-flow portion. A plurality of holes may or may not be provided through a lower portion of the tray (e.g., in a lower portion of the sidewall of the tray) to draw combustion air into the air flow portion, below the mesh insert. The system may pre-arrange the fuel in the tray during manufacture, so the user is not required to spread or even touch the briquets, or may be for use with fuel provided by a user. Clean up is very simple, as the entire system can be discarded after a single use, once cooled, as the ash is automatically collected in the bottom of the tray.
