摘要: Systems and methods for providing incentives for the public to travel during time windows and routes that help alleviate traffic congestion. The systems described herein include at least two components: a computer server software system that includes various algorithms and database sub-systems; and a mobile device application. Generally, a user may enter an origin, destination, and preferred time of travel for an intended trip into the mobile device application, which transmits the information to a remote server. The server computes a route for the trip and provides the user with available incentives for traveling the route at one or more departure time windows. The user's mobile device transmits GPS data to the server, which allows the server to verify whether the user has traveled the route during the specified time window. If so, the server then provides the incentive to the user via the user's mobile device or through email.

摘要: A networked system architecture including hardware and software elements permits data transmission between underwater systems. The network architecture includes data transmission between underwater computers, instruments, robotic vehicles, human-occupied underwater habitats, and/or worn sensor devices. Data is transmitted over wired communication channels, wireless communication channels, or a combination thereof. The network is established independent of surface connectivity (e.g., a topside connection) and creates a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) specific to an underwater environment. A system administrator, such as a diver, operates an underwater and waterproof computer to control and operate an underwater and waterproof device (e.g., a robotic vehicle) over the LAN/WAN. The underwater device may be a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), a drifting sensor, a moored sensor, or the like.

摘要: The present invention features inhibitors of the eIF4A enzyme. These inhibitors have a novel mechanism for inhibiting the eIF4A enzyme by occupying a binding pocket within the eIF4A RNA-binding groove, thereby perturbing RNA binding, blocking ATP hydrolysis, and, consequently, inhibiting RNA helicase activity. Thus, the compounds of the present invention are RNA-competitive, ATP-uncompetitive elF4A inhibitors that directly bind elF4A and inhibit the protein.

摘要: An apparatus has a device representing an endoscope, the device being either an endoscope or a dummy endoscope having shape and feel resembling an endoscope, and includes a tracker adapted to operate with a three-dimensional tracking system to track location and orientation of the device in three dimensions in a simulated operating-room environment. The apparatus also has a physical head model comprising hard and soft components, the device representing an endoscope configured to be inserted into the physical head model to provide a haptic feedback of endoscopic surgery.

摘要: Provided herein are portable biocontainment devices for safe and reliable collection of biological samples, including liquid and gas samples. A sample inlet for collecting fluids and/or gases, including oral fluids and expired breath samples, is connected to a container having a climate-controlled container reservoir. One or more sample containers are connected to the sample inlet for collection of samples. The devices are configured for safe transport and handling of samples, while maintaining sample viability, including for relatively long transport periods. Safety components integrated within the device facilitates safe and effective decontamination of contagious samples. In this manner, aborting the sample preservation by decontamination prior to a hazardous release is achieved within the same apparatus.

The MR signals originate in voxels of the subject corresponding to an artifact-corrupted region of a coil image. Coordinates (x,y) correspond to a location within a cross-sectional plane of the subject. The method also includes, for subject-regions of cross-sectional plane centered at a respective location (x,y), determining a coil weight vector W (x,y) from {circumflex over ( )}R. The method also includes generating the streak-suppressed MR image as a weighted sum of the coil images Ij (x,y), each weight of the weighted sum being Wj* (x,y), a jth element of a complex conjugate of coil weight vector W (x,y).

摘要: Methods, devices and systems are described that can be used to measure small magnetic fields, such as nano-Tesla and sub nano-Tesla magnetic fields. An example magnetometer includes a core having a photonic material that receives and maintains the propagation of polarized light. The magnetometer's cladding includes a polymer-based magneto-optic (MO) material in contact with the core which surrounds at least part of the core. The core and the cladding are configured to allow at least a portion of the polarized light to enter the cladding to interact with the polymer-based MO material in presence of an external magnetic field. Measurements of the light's polarization state after interaction with the polymer-based magneto-optic (MO) material enable a determination of a strength of the magnetic field.

摘要: Maize is vital to both US agriculture and the economy. The US provides over half of the maize global market. In the US, field maize production is a $75B endeavor and comprises 95% of the total US grain production. Worldwide there is a net loss of 16 million tons of maize due to aflatoxin contamination. In the US alone, aflatoxin contamination of food/feed results in an estimated $52M-$1.68B agricultural loss every year. Aflatoxin contamination in crops, and subsequently livestock, threatens greater agricultural development, food security and human health. Elimination of aflatoxin is a critical economic and health issue in the US. The present invention features composition and methods for the degradation of aflatoxin in crops post-harvest.
