    摘要: Systems and methods for providing incentives for the public to travel during time windows and routes that help alleviate traffic congestion. The systems described herein include at least two components: a computer server software system that includes various algorithms and database sub-systems; and a mobile device application. Generally, a user may enter an origin, destination, and preferred time of travel for an intended trip into the mobile device application, which transmits the information to a remote server. The server computes a route for the trip and provides the user with available incentives for traveling the route at one or more departure time windows. The user's mobile device transmits GPS data to the server, which allows the server to verify whether the user has traveled the route during the specified time window. If so, the server then provides the incentive to the user via the user's mobile device or through email.

    摘要: A networked system architecture including hardware and software elements permits data transmission between underwater systems. The network architecture includes data transmission between underwater computers, instruments, robotic vehicles, human-occupied underwater habitats, and/or worn sensor devices. Data is transmitted over wired communication channels, wireless communication channels, or a combination thereof. The network is established independent of surface connectivity (e.g., a topside connection) and creates a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) specific to an underwater environment. A system administrator, such as a diver, operates an underwater and waterproof computer to control and operate an underwater and waterproof device (e.g., a robotic vehicle) over the LAN/WAN. The underwater device may be a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), a drifting sensor, a moored sensor, or the like.

    摘要: Methods, devices and systems are described that can be used to measure small magnetic fields, such as nano-Tesla and sub nano-Tesla magnetic fields. An example magnetometer includes a core having a photonic material that receives and maintains the propagation of polarized light. The magnetometer's cladding includes a polymer-based magneto-optic (MO) material in contact with the core which surrounds at least part of the core. The core and the cladding are configured to allow at least a portion of the polarized light to enter the cladding to interact with the polymer-based MO material in presence of an external magnetic field. Measurements of the light's polarization state after interaction with the polymer-based magneto-optic (MO) material enable a determination of a strength of the magnetic field.

    摘要: Maize is vital to both US agriculture and the economy. The US provides over half of the maize global market. In the US, field maize production is a $75B endeavor and comprises 95% of the total US grain production. Worldwide there is a net loss of 16 million tons of maize due to aflatoxin contamination. In the US alone, aflatoxin contamination of food/feed results in an estimated $52M-$1.68B agricultural loss every year. Aflatoxin contamination in crops, and subsequently livestock, threatens greater agricultural development, food security and human health. Elimination of aflatoxin is a critical economic and health issue in the US. The present invention features composition and methods for the degradation of aflatoxin in crops post-harvest.
