    摘要: The invention provides disintegratable films containing a mixture of high molecular weight and low molecular weight water soluble components; and a pharmaceutically or cosmetically active ingredient. Optionally, the films contain a starch component, a glucose component, a filler, a plasticizer and/or humectant. The films are preferably in the form of a mucoadhesive monolayer having a thickness sufficient to rapidly disintegrate in the oral environment and release the active ingredient without undue discomfort to the oral mucosa. The monolayer can be cut to any desired size or shape to provide conveniently useable unit dosage forms for administration to oral or other mucosal surfaces for human pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or veterinary applications. The invention further provides methods of administering the film compositions by placing the composition into, for example, the oral cavity for a sufficient period of time to permit the film to disintegrate and release the active ingredient.

    摘要: A UV light curable adhesive is disclosed, comprising, at least one bi-active monomer, at least one polymerizable oligomer, a primary photoinitiator, and a monomer scavenger, wherein photopolymerization of the at least one bi-active monomer by the primary photoinitiator activates the monomer scavenger, reducing residual monomer content in a cured adhesive formed by the photopolymerization of the bi-active monomer in comparison to an otherwise identical comparative UV adhesive lacking the monomer scavenger. A method for curing the UV light curable adhesive is disclosed, including applying the UV light curable adhesive to a surface and exposing the UV light curable adhesive to UV light, free from heating the UV light curable adhesive other than any autogenous increases in temperature from exothermic polymerization reactions. A device with the UV light cured adhesive is disclosed, including the UV light cured adhesive joining a first surface to a second surface.

This permits the surfactant to continuously replenish at the surface of the adhesive as other surfactant is removed, such as when it is carried away by an aqueous sample flowing over that surface in an in-vitro diagnostic device, resulting in adhesive compositions that are inherently hydrophilic on their surfaces and do not rely on the bloom mechanism of known hydrophilic adhesives. This provides greater design options for in-vitro diagnostic device manufacturers, including the use of hydrophilic adhesive spacers in lieu of or in combination with hydrophilic top covers.
