    摘要: A method for providing service levels in a Radio Frequency (RF) network is disclosed. The method including: associating one or more service levels with each supported symbol rate, modulation and error correction encoded scheme (ModCod); assigning a subscriber service level for a RF transmitter; receiving a signal quality of a transmission by the RF transmitter; selecting a transmit ModCod from the supported ModCods, wherein the signal quality exceeds a threshold signal quality for the transmit ModCod; and authorizing the RF transmitter to transmit to the receiver when the subscriber service level is included in the one or more service levels associated with the transmit ModCod, wherein signal quality adapts to a signal fade.

    摘要: Mechanisms are provided to maintain deduplication data in native file formats. Files, including entities such as volumes and databases, are analyzed to identify components suitable for deduplication. These components suitable for deduplication are delineated into chunks and identifiers are generated for each of the chunks. The identifiers are used to reference the chunks in deduplication dictionaries that provide locations indicating where deduplicated chunks are stored. The components in the files are replaced with file handles or stubs that applications can use to access deduplicated data. Applications can continue to perform operations on the files as though no deduplication has occurred.

    摘要: The invention relates to determining the status of run-time-instrumentation controls. The status is determined by executing a test run-time-instrumentation controls (TRIC) instruction. The TRIC instruction executed in either a supervisor state or a lesser-privileged state. The TRIC instruction determines whether the run-time-instrumentation controls have changed. The run-time-instrumentation controls are set to an initial value using a privileged load run-time-instrumentation controls (LRIC) instruction. The TRIC instruction is fetched and executed. If the TRIC instruction is enabled, then it is determined if the initial value set by the run-time-instrumentation controls has been changed. If the initial value set by the run-time-instrumentation controls has been changed, then a condition code is set to a first value.

The method includes configuring a first impedance for a first output of the integrated circuit according to a first configuration code and measuring a first voltage at the first output which corresponds to the first configuration code. The method further includes configuring a second impedance for a second output of the integrated circuit according to a second configuration code and measuring a second voltage at the second output which corresponds to the second configuration code. A determination of which of the first voltage and the second voltage is nearest to a predetermined voltage value. Based on the voltage determination, the integrated circuit is configured according a code of said first and second codes that corresponds to the voltage nearest to the predetermined voltage.

    摘要: A system for authenticating the user of a computing device comprises an authorized user directory. Each record is uniquely associated with an authorized user and includes at least a computing device ID value that is a globally unique value assigned to the authorized user's computing device, a group of unique depictions such as photographs, an identification of a key depiction. Portions of each image form fiducials recognizable by the user. The record further includes trace pattern verification data representing continuous trace strokes between pairs of the fiducials within the key depiction. To authenticate, the group of images are displayed to the user. The user must first select the key image and secondly trace continuous trace strokes between the pairs of fiducials to match the trace pattern verification data.
