The spoke-mounting wall has two annular lateral peripheral edges. The left and right annular tire-retaining walls extend integrally, radially, outwardly and respectively from the lateral peripheral edges of the spoke-mounting wall. Each of the tire-retaining walls has an inner surface that faces the other one of the tire-retaining walls to confine a tire receiving space therewith, an outer brake pad contacting surface opposite to the inner surface, and an annular end face distal to the spoke-mounting wall. Each of the tire-retaining walls further has a tire retaining projection, formed at a corner of the end face and the inner surface for engaging a bicycle tire so as to retain the bicycle tire between the tire-retaining walls. The wear-resisting rings are made of a resilient material. Each of the wear-resisting rings extends along the end face of a respective one of the tire-retaining walls, and projects radially and outwardly relative to the end face of the respective one of the tire-retaining walls to prevent the end face from contacting directly the bicycle tire to minimize wearing of the bicycle tire.

A green tire (24) prepared by superposing an inner liner (2) onto the inner surface of a tire body (1) is set in an upper die (29) and a lower die (30). In this condition, a pressure bag (31) placed inside the green tire (24) is expanded by air pressure to perform vulcanization and forming. At this time, a mold release sheet (9) such as a fluoro resin sheet having a mold releasing property on one surface only is interposed between a part of the inner liner (2) and the tire body (1) in such a manner that the surface having the mold releasing property is opposed to the inner liner (2). Accordingly, the inner liner (2) is prevented from being bonded by vulcanization to the tire body (1), thereby forming a sealant chamber having a proper shape for charging a sealant thereto. In case the mold release sheet (9) is formed of a material soluble in the sealant, a reduction in sealability of the sealant due to the mold release sheet (9) left in the sealant chamber can be avoided.

The invention also provides a rubber composition usable for the manufacture of tires, comprising, as base constituents, one or more diene elastomer(s), a reinforcing white filler, a polysulphurized alkoxysilane coupling agent with which are associated a zinc dithiophosphate and a guanidine derivative. Also provided is a process for preparing such a rubber composition, and a tire or semi-finished product, in particular a tread for a tire, comprising a rubber composition according to the invention.
