Abstract:
Various embodiments associated with a composite image are described. In one embodiment, a handheld device comprises a launch component configured to cause a launch of a projectile. The projectile is configured to capture a plurality of images. Individual images of the plurality of images are of different segments of an area. The system also comprises an image stitch component configured to stitch the plurality of images into a composite image. The composite image is of a higher resolution than a resolution of individual images of the plurality of images.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for monitoring and control of local or remote premises using a peer-to-peer communication infrastructure. The method uses messages transmitted over the peer-to-peer communication infrastructure to relate various data and control signals.
Abstract:
A method is provided for retrieving metadata for content residing in a peer-to-peer network. The method includes: determining a content reference identifier for the content; generating a hash value for the content reference identifier; determining location of a metadata service based on the hash value; and retrieving metadata for the content by accessing the metadata service using the content reference identifier
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for performing bitplane coding with reordering, that may be used in a Fine Granularity Scalability (FGS) system. The apparatus and method reorder coefficients each time after a bitplane is coded. By reordering, the apparatus and method separate the coefficients into two groups. When coding a bitplane, bits in the first group are copied into the bitstream, while the bits in the second group are subject to common run-length, VLC, or arithmetic coding. The apparatus and method may also be used with or in a conventional SNR, temporal and/or spatially scalable architectures, for example, as utilized within an MPEG-4 framework.
Abstract:
An improved services gateway environment is provided within a gateway framework. The improvement comprising a SIP service architecture that enables SIP entities to register with itself and translates such registrations into gateway aware registrations.
Abstract:
Multiple media push engines communicate with the multimedia client through a multi casting network that may incorporate multiple delivery paths. The streaming data representing media selections for delivery are distributed across multiple media push engines using a non-hierarchial coding technique in which the data are represented as a set of substream components, capable of being reconstituted from fewer than all of the components of the original data stream. The higher the number of components used in reconstitution, the higher the quality of service is provided by the reconstituted stream. Admission control to the group multicast session is administered in a distributed fashion, where an admission control unit opens the multicast stream, with all subsequent admission control decisions being made by the media push engines themselves. Substream component data are sent using Real-Time transport protocol while session management and the distributed admission control process are administered under the Real-Time Control Protocol.
Abstract:
Provided are a system and method of interacting with a vehicle or a home control system. A context associated with a user input is obtained in relation to the vehicle or the home control system. An instruction based on the user input and the context is generated. The instruction is transmitted to the vehicle or the home control system to generate control or indication in connection with one of a component and a function of the vehicle or the home control system.

Abstract:
Described are systems and methods, including computer program products for controlling an unmanned vehicle. A user controls one or more unmanned vehicles with a smart phone. The smart phone receives video stream from the unmanned vehicles, and the smart phone displays the controls from the unmanned vehicle over the video. The smart phone and the unmanned vehicle communicate wirelessly.
Abstract:
An automatic metadata generation service system for use in home networks includes a home network interface adapted to perceive user network activity on a home network. A metadata generation service module generates user metadata based on the user network activity. An update service module automatically updates one or more existing metadata sets on the home network with generated metadata. In other aspects, a metadata generation service system for use with a home network, includes a home network interface adapted to interact with one or more of content providers or service providers according to one or more service discovery protocols. A monitoring service module obtains an update of metadata from one or more of the providers. A metadata generation service module convert metadata of one format received via the update to metadata of another format required by the home network.
