    摘要: A method and apparatus for high-resolution digitization of a signal with a large dynamic range employ an analog-to-digital converter having a bit number and having a measuring region which is smaller than the total range of measurement of the incoming signal, the range of measurement being divided into smaller measuring segments which partically overlap, each measuring segment having a size corresponding to the measuring ranges of the analog-to-digital converter. The information from the analog-to-digital converter controls a measurement segment selector such that the signal to be converted into digital form is within the selected segment. A new digital signal value is extrapolated at least from the two last bits from the analog-to-digital converter.

    摘要: A heart pacemaker has a controllable time delay element for setting the time between atrial and ventricular activity (AV time). For terminating tachycardia as quickly as possible with such a heart pacemaker, a detector for detecting tachycardia is provided with the time delay element being driven by means of the detector such that the AV time is altered upon the occurrence of tachycardia. The change in the AV time is selected such that the new AV time is an optimum for terminating tachycardia. After a preselected time, the time delay element returns to the original AV time.

This goal is inventively achieved in that a locking register is allocated to a memory bank constructed of a plurality of information memories, in which locking register a locking signal can be inscribed for each information memory which is specifically allocated to this information memory, on the basis of which locking signal a change of the stored informational content is made impossible as long as no opening signal for an appertaining information memory is input into the locking register from the outside.

    摘要: A measuring instrument for obtaining an intracardial signal indicative of blood oxygen saturation, which may be used to control the stimulation frequency of a heart pacemaker, has a measuring probe which contains a light transmitter and a light receiver. The light receiver receives light from the light transmitter reflected by the blood. The light transmitter and the light receiver are connected in parallel to an evaluation circuit via two leads. A constant current source is connected in series with the light transmitter. The current generated by the light receiver, indicative of blood oxygen saturation, can be identified by forming the difference between current flowing in the measuring probe and the constant current. A reference measurement to compensate for factors in the total current resulting from the lead resistances and the measuring probe temperature is not necessary.

    摘要: A routine is provided in order to be able to terminate a detected tachycardia quickly and reliably, the routine generating a sequence of n stimulation pulses, checking the heart reaction and, under given conditions, changing the sequence until the sequence terminates the tachycardia. The effective sequences are stored in a plurality of registers and are employed in a prescribable order for controlling the stimulation pulses. In addition to the traditional electronics, a heart pacemaker for the implementation of this method contains a tachycardia detector, a memory having N registers for the sequences to be stored, as well as a control logic for the selection of the registers and/or for changing the register values.
