A process for producing a non-woven fabric of cross-laminated warp web and weft webs is provided, which comprises first preparing the weft webs by ejecting a molten polymer of specified properties through orifices provided on the peripheral surface of a rotating vessel, in the lateral direction of the vessel and toward elongated stocks arranged in parallel and in cylindrical form and running around the vessel vertically in the direction of the polymer ejection; causing the ejected polymer to form adhesive filaments adhered onto the stocks to thereby fix the arrangement of the stocks; cutting open the resulting web and cutting the cut-open web by a length corresponding to a width of the above cross-laminated product; successively placing the cut webs onto the above warp web without gaps; and melting the adhesive filaments constituting the weft webs by heating the laminate to thereby bond the cross-points of the weft webs and the warp web to obtain the above product. This product has a precise lattice arrangement and can be simply and cheaply produced and used for various uses.

Blade enclosures are connected to storage devices through FC switches, and management blades and FC switches are connected to a SAN management device. Automatic setting modular program displays an input screen on a display. A manager inputs IP addresses of FC switches so as to be associated with IP address of management blade into input screen. The automatic-setting modular program acquires the server blade information from the management blades, turns on the powers of the server blades, and acquires the FC switch information from the FC switches. The program associates the slot numbers contained in the server blade information acquired from the management blades to the port numbers contained in the FC switch information acquired from the FC switches in one-to-one relationships. The program generates records that are combinations of the server blade information and the FC switch information, and stores the generated records in connection definition table.

The invention provides a nonwoven fabric of stretched filaments of different kind polymers, having a strength equal to that of a woven fabric and features including an elongation, a uniformity, good feeling, a bulkiness and a thinness, characterized in that the nonwoven fabric is provided with stretched filament webs comprising long filaments formed out of a plural kinds of thermoplastic polymers of different properties, the long filaments as a whole being aligned in one direction, and a method for manufacturing the same. The invention provides also a nonwoven fabric of stretched filaments having a high strength as well as a high bulkiness and comprising different kind polymers which is provided with a first web layer of crimped filaments and a second web layer of substantially non-crimped, stretched long filaments, and a method for manufacturing the same.

A method for the continuous preparation of a polyethylene having high strength and high modulus of elasticity is here disclosed which comprises the steps of mixing 100 parts by weight of an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene powder having an intrinsic viscosity of 5 to 50 dl/g in decalin at 135.degree. C. with 2 to 50 parts by weight of a liquid organic compound having a boiling point higher than the melting point of the polyethylene, feeding the resulting mixture to between a pair of upper and lower endless belts facing each other, continuously compression-molding the mixture at a temperature less than the melting point of the mixture by pressing means disposed inside the endless belts, and rolling and then drawing the same.

A non-woven fabric having a strength which is comparable to the strength of woven fabric and a method of making such non-woven fabric are disclosed. The non-woven fabric has a laminated structure composed of a warp web of random-laid non-woven fabric stretched lengthwise and hence having a greater strength in the lengthwise direction than in the transverse direction, and a weft web of random-laid non-woven fabric stretched transversely and hence having a greater strength in the transverse direction than in the lengthwise direction. Filaments constituting each of the warp and weft webs are substantially free from molecular orientation and extendible at least two times the original length before the web is stretched. Upon stretching of the web, the un-oriented filaments are substantially stretched to thereby cause molecular orientation therein.

A process for collecting continuous polymer filaments centrifugally ejected from the spinning nozzles of a spinning head rotating at a high velocity is provided wherein the ejected filaments are caught by the surface of an annular form, flowing down liquid or by an annular wall surface wetted by a liquid flowing down thereon, spaced apart from and surrounding the spinning head and concentrically opposed to the head; then moved downwards from the location where the filaments are caught, by the flowing down liquid and if necessary, together with two or more guides; and dropped on a belt moving below the spinning head in the lateral direction and taken up in the form of multifilaments or dropped on the belt in the form of an ellipse long in the width direction of the belt and after adhering selvage materials to both the side end parts of the filaments, taken up in the form of a weft web of the ejected filaments.

In a first management unit for a redundant array of independent disks (RAID management unit), a shared-class setting unit receives a shared-class setting command, for example, from a host computer. If the shared-class setting command includes information about the first RAID management unit and a second RAID management unit, a shared management-information creating unit creates shared management information, writes the created shared management information onto a first disk, notifies the second RAID management unit corresponding to a second disk about the shared management information, and gives an instruction to write the shared management information onto the second disk. The second RAID management unit then writes the notified shared management information onto the second disk.

A method of transferring a virtual volume established on a real volume includes acquiring transfer source virtual volume information from a transfer source, acquiring transfer destination real volume information from a transfer destination, generating transfer destination virtual volume information from the transfer source virtual volume information by using the transfer destination real volume information, and establishing a virtual volume at the transfer destination based on the transfer destination virtual volume information.
