摘要: A recognition object detecting portion detects a recognition object existing in each of images which are captured in series at different time points by a camera. Images of the detected recognition object are stored in a memory. A recognition object condition judging portion determines whether image areas of the recognition object are recognizable. A movement amount detecting portion detects a movement amount of the recognition object by using the image areas of the recognition object stored in the memory. A sub-area detecting portion detects a sub-area to be recognized, by using the image areas of the recognition object read out from the memory, in accordance with the movement amount of the recognition object. A recognition portion performs recognition processing on the sub-areas. A recognition result integration portion integrates recognition results of the sub-areas including recognized characters and/or recognized patterns and the corresponding reliabilities, respectively.

摘要: To improve recognition accuracy of a traveling direction of a vehicle by accurately detecting a marking on a road surface which is photographed by a camera while a road environment where a vehicle travels is changing. A car navigation system 100 detects an image of a light-irradiated portion which is unnecessary for the recognition of a road marking, in an image behind a vehicle captured by a camera 6 mounted on the vehicle, clips out image areas in a predetermined shape excluding the detected image area, and sequentially stores the clipped images in a storage unit 7b. Then, the new clipped image and the clipped image already stored in the storage unit 7b are combined, and an image of a road marking is detected and recognized from the composite image.

摘要: Each of vibration dampers is separated from each circumferentially adjacent one of the vibration dampers upon cutting of each of a plurality of connectors, which is initially integrally formed with the vibration dampers to circumferentially join between corresponding circumferentially adjacent two of the vibration dampers to form a single closed loop body. At least a part of each of first and second circumferential end portions of each vibration damper is engaged with a corresponding one of outer protrusions of a centerpiece in a circumferential direction of a stator. A primary recess is radially inwardly recessed at an outer peripheral portion of the vibration damper and is engaged with a corresponding one of primary protrusions of the stator in the circumferential direction of the stator.

摘要: A communications network has a plurality of customer terminals and a single center terminal which are coupled through communication lines. A large scale integrated circuit is operatively coupled to each terminal. The integrated circuit device has enciphering and deciphering functions and has a recording device. When a transaction request message is sent from one customer terminal to the center, the transaction request message is enciphered by the integrated circuit device, and the enciphered message is sent to the center. In order to increase the transaction verification capability, the transmission message is recorded, in association with encryption of the transmission message, in an area of the recording device which can be accessed from outside only for readout. In order to further improve the transaction verification capability, the response message is enciphered by the integrated circuit device in the center. The enciphered response message is deciphered by the integrated circuit device in the customer terminal. The response message is recorded in the area of the recording device such that the encrypted message and decrypted message can be distinguished from each other.

摘要: In a computed tomography system using radiation, a large number of radiation beams are projected into a selected slice-like sectional portion of a subject to be reconstructed, in various directions. A profile of measured projection data is obtained from the radiation beams penetrated in parallel at each given angular interval. The profile of measured projection data thus obtained is subjected to a filtering operation to produce profiles of first modified projection data. The profile of modified projection data is recasted at properly selected intervals to produce second modified projection data. This results in a remarkable reduction of the amount of weight coefficients required in an interpolation to calculate the modified projection data for a large number of picture elements defined in matrix fashion on the sectional portion.
